Big question this Winter sale: When should I sell Mystery cards?

As soon as possible!

usually before the sales starts. but they are very cheap this time.

not enough buyers (the derpy hoards of people aren't aware yet lol)

so the best is to wait with crafting badges until event starts?

In some of the past events you would get an extra card once per day crafting a set, so may be best to keep a couple completed sets in reserve, just in case.

The real question is - should I craft the badges to get mystery cards? And, if you worry most about profits - the answer is no, better sell the cards, don't craft badges.

I didn't realize the mystery cards had started dropping. This is mostly due to Valve trade-locking my account for a week for changing my email. (Which I had no real reason to do but I didn't seem to be receiving some emails, until I figured out that I needed to accept stuff from the mobile app now.)

Depends on sale event! If it's good sell during the event and if it's not sell before event is known.

I can't remember well but on a winter event, there was actually more stuff to drop while crafting (community items…), so maybe it's better to wait the start of sale to get those items that you won't get if you start right now!

No drops for me. I assume everyone here have these new cards?

If they were trading about 50% above their current price I'd craft and sell but they seem really cheap this year so I may as well wait til day 1 in case something extra comes out of it

I'm in the same boat as you, no idea. So I just put half the cards on the market and keeping the rest to see what the event will be about.

The price seems to be creeping up very very slowly.

Anyone care to point me to somewhere where I can read up on what that's all about with these cards? My Steam account is 12 years old, but I only started collecting cards this year. I have about 90 badges to craft :)

Well. I bought 15 foils for 45-60 cents and they are worth over a dollar each now. I still think that they will go higher at start of sale.
