Winners are selected at random from the database the moment a giveaway closes. The past history of a member has no affect on their chances of winning, and everyone always has an equal opportunity of being selected.

Short story: It's as random as a computer can do random things.

Long story: Computers can't produce completely random numbers from digital hardware, so, depending on what method SG's database uses to generate the random number, it is more or less random. It usually follows a distribution, probably a normal or gaussian distribution, which means there is a certain range of numbers that is more likely to be selected. Nothing to worry about though.

It's all random. It will happen eventually is all I can say.

The winners are randomly chosen, use simple maths to determine your odds from the number of entries in a giveaway. Less entries = higher odds, generally.
