What is your Main Reason(s) to Open Steam Account?

To play Killing Floor BACK IN 2011 and from there, I have hunfreds of games on my acc now haha :|

Probably to play Half Life 2, but I can't honestly remember :)

Well around 8 years ago I had an account strictly for Counter Strike. I lost that account so I made this new one, 4 or so years later when I was switching back to PC gaming.

I opened my Steam acc because I was looking for F2P games and I wanted to try TF2 so I made my account

I had to open an account to redeem my free half life 2 lost coast +hl2 deathmatch that came with my "new" GPU 6 years ago...

Mine was Half-Life 2.

I bought Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 from nearby store(NOT FROM INTERNET.I just wanted to point out I miss those days :D )

It required steam in order to play and installed itself with the dvd.Back then I was like what is steam is that a virus O.o
Looks like it is indeed a virus that changes my whole gaming life :)

hmm i was forced to well atleast if i wanted to play on CS, DoD and halflife. all those games worked fine as steamfree games time steam was made in i think it was 2003

Wanted to buy Indigo Prophecy, log in 2 days later and it's been removed from store

Playing pirate version of MW 2 multiplayer.

Wanted to support brazilian devs Critical when they released Dungeonland. Funny game, not a big hit (its F2P now but no one plays it anymore). 1 year and 4 days later, here I am with my 208 games.

So I could buy Ys Origin.

Because Team Fortress 2's pirated version was outdated and just a bother to deal with. Since I wanted to try out the game Steam was the only option. Also conveniently it was near Christmas and the Orange Box was on a nice sale, so I was "Why not?".

Bought Half-Life 2 collection on 6 cd years ago.

As I by that time was connected to internet only by GPRS (trough my phone), that „patch before playing” requirement was quite unpleasant surprise.

Bought my first original game, MW3.

Because some game I bought a long time ago required it. After which I pretty much ignored Steam for several years until I figured out it was easier to buy games through it than GameStop and Amazon at the time.

only wanted so i can play TF2, then bought Don't Starve. Didn't touch for 8 months. Now look at me ;-;

I started with terraria.

TF2 was free... then the sales happend... then the bundles.
