It's strange to see that the world painkliller is a medical term (probably not in this game though). It has a very strong meaning, and I wonder if that's the case in other languages.
We also use "Analgetikum" for pain killer. "Calmant" sounds more like our "Beruhigungsmittel", which basically means "calm down stuff", so tranquilizers.
In German, it's just "Schmerztablette" = pain pill.

In Hungarian it's fájdalomcsillapító, from combining the words fájdalom (pain) and csillapító (reducer, "moderater")

In Bulgarian is close, is it болкоуспокояващо - болко (pain) and успокояващо (soothing).
