Okay, you kinda got me. I couldn't be bothered to give more than a cursory glance until it was confirmed to actually be a puzzle. I figured it would be revealed eventually one way or the other, and I don't worry too much about missing out on the odd giveaway here and there. I didn't take it at face value, of course. The thread's longevity and continued bumping, as well as the fact it wasn't closed, were pretty much dead giveaways that it wasn't what it appeared to be. Hence I didn't "feed the troll." The actual puzzle presented no difficulty. Any time there's not something obvious in the OP, the source is about the first place I go.
6/10 Would check the "troll thread" again.

There was a lot of flaming at first :) and more than half the entries where added on the last 24 hours, after I stated it was a puzzle. I would expect people would get suspicious of it a lot earlier than they did.

Not, indeed. Despite noticing some glaring clues to something being off about your thread and new friend, my mind has been too displaced lately and I didn't dig any deeper. Also, I'm still relatively new to the source code trick, so it's not usually the first thing I check on such interesting posts. That should teach me to be more suspicious in the future!
