I watched an interesting documentary about how rabies could mutate and become airborne and kill everyone so that's a pretty cool scenario

I think climate change leading to rising sea levels and super storms are what is most likely to wipe us out. Failing that, maybe a super virus. Or all the insects will team up to take back the planet and we'll have to fight them off with flamethrowers.

capitalism reduces everything to near soviet russia levels of desperation. people are still too stupid to have a 2 idealogy scaled system where socialist for necessity, capped capitalism for non essentials. alot of people die (alot of the stupid people_, and whats left can rebuild. books become the new gold. knowledge becomes time. and the people who are left? they are just players in creating a new dawn

Maybe a shortage of food and water after the earth got overpopulated.
Might not happen very soon, but not unlikely for a possible future of the earth if the economy keeps putting growth first.

Without going in to too much detail, when the human species ends up becoming homogenous to the point where the entire species is composed of a single race, we'll eventually run across or accidentally/purposefully create some form of virus/bacterium that is deadly to this new homogenous species of human. There will be little to no difference between any human in any area/region, so a virus that might have only killed off 10% of the human population ends up killing all. We shouldn't all be alike for numerous reasons and on many levels; this is only one reason.

That's one possibility. Of course, we could always do one of the above-mentioned ways first. Shrugs

I kind of lean towards war. Some big one, with nuclear weapons for sure. Thanks to our own stupidity and arroganc3
Seeing how unstable at the moment everything is.
And its not like there isnt war now. Everyone is fighting everyone and everyone has some kind of their own agenda.
As its usually said about our own days - world war is already afoot.
Its just a question of time until this war that is already going on will go out of bounds and affect the world that has settled in. And I think that is slowly happening with terrorist attacks (which thankfully havent happened lately) and very blatant aggressions from big powers already really set an uneasy mind.
My apocalypse scenario is that we will destroy ourselves with war. Seeing how society is progressing doesnt really give hope.
