My 4th giveaway on this site, I have started to whitelist people at random in the comments from my previous giveaways including the 3 winners, as I am thinking of offering something more exclusive, if I really get into this site I will probably make some sort of steam group associated with it :)

Welcome to SteamGifts! 😁

Thanks, I check your profile and added you to a whitelist, but I want to ask, as someone who is of a high contributor level and has entered lots of giveaways, does it become easier to win as your contributor level goes up?

It's still down to luck, but naturally you have better odds if there are 1000 entries instead of 5000.
It's not really something you should think of as an investment; instead, just view it as a perk and bonus, assuming your reason for being here in the first place is generosity.
You could in theory min-max your investment to get a high giveaway level + sneak into people's whitelists by doing X or Y, leading to an eventual "profit" where you win stuff at a total higher value than the one you invested.

In all honesty, I did not really understand the contributor system until my first giveaway was set as received and it showed on my profile so this is a helpful system.
It is kinda nice to know now that I can get the thrill of doing giveaways and this in turn allows me to do better in others

Assuming you like to make giveaways: yeah, it's win-win.

Hey. Welcome to SG!
Obviously you get the higher chances to win from higher required level GA's as there are less entrys. Keep an eye on the game title when you're creating a GA if there is * or * left to the name so you don't get confused about your contribution scores. means 15% value, ** - no value. Although they add reduced value to your level, they still adds full to your total gifted score.
Also you might wanna do at least lvl 1+ requirement as there are many bots and people with multiple accounts. Getting to lvl 1 shouldn't be an issue for anyone anyway.
Thanks for GA and good luck!

Thanks for the advice, I will start by making my giveaways at level 1 it seems like a good fair idea.
Is there any way I can see a full list of games that give full? I did try and put one of my favourites out earlier but it had the * so I kinda just left it so I was wondering if there was a list.
Also why are some games asterisked

I don't think there is one, unless someone made one for themselfs.
For more detailed and usefull info you should check Help - FAQ section on top left, list through for "What are "No Value", "Reduced Value", and "Full Value" giveaways?" to get the answer for your question :)

Cheers for the 💙
Funny thing is, the vast majority of those 24733 giveaway entries were not long after I joined, and I was entering everything just for the thrill of it. Winning free games for the sake of winning... 😅
At some point I switched to just entering giveaways for things I actually wanted to play, so in fact as my level has gone up my chance of winning has gone down 😁
But now when I do win something, it's much better because I've got something great I really want to play, and not just another game adding another +1 to my ever growing Steam backlog! 😊
Of course as Zankman said being one of a 1000 other entrants is better than odds than one of 5000, but I've lost plenty of giveaways with just double digit entries, Lady Luck seems a cruel mistress sometimes... 😉

Rare giveaway, since I doubt this game is a found in bundles or something.
Try a longer giveaway next time if you want to attract more people.

And the length was suppossed to be 1 day on this one (earlier giveaways were longer) but i messed up somehwere and it came up as an hour

Nice GA.:-)
But right now I'm slowly working my way through my backlog and playing some of my previous wins, so I won't enter.
Have a nice weekend! 😃

Welcome, like you said, it is a good idea to establish yourself before launching a new group. There are a lot of random people who start groups with no intention of doing giveaways on the site.

I think I will give it a few months doing at least 1 a week and if I like it and it is something that is financially viable for me then I will do a group.

Welcome to the circus!
Your account is still very recent but if you intend to make more giveaways, you should look into joining Unlucky 7. It's a group for newbies (with 2 months old account or who have given at least 7 games on SG) and have won less than 7 games.
It's a great way to get a few wins to start you up, with limited entries and lots of gifters.
Have fun and thanks for the cool GA

Welcome and thanks for the Giveaway (i seen it much too late).
I want to advice you in general to check if your winner had broke the rules of not activating past wins (they will then, normaly, sold or traded) or won a game more as one time (mostly sold or traded too), before you send a win out.
0ldNick in this case is absolute clean.
You can check users with:
https://www.sgtools.info/activation
and
https://www.sgtools.info/multiple-wins
If something red marked appear then request a reroll of the winner and copy the sgtools link in the ticket.
The support handle the rest.
