Now I am jealous. Watching an e-sport tournament in Korea (preferable BW) would be a nice thing to do. I can only easily attend Homestory Cup and IEM @ Gamescom tournaments.
It sure was nice.
Almost every year, the final took place in my very hometown. And also, in 2010, the Winners League final was held at my school! And in the said final, Bisu beat Flash and T1, the team I was rooting for, won the league. It was awesome. (Can't believe it's been 6 years already D:)
Now almost every major Starcraft: Brood War league/tournament is gone as well as the public interests of the game.
And for Starcraft 2... well that hasn't even been that popular..... I heard almost every pro team has disbanded already? The sequel wasn't really something interesting in Korea compared to Starcraft: Brood War.
There are still some people who miss Starcraft: Brood War including me. So I think that's why people are trying to bring back professional league for the game. Although that doesn't seem well to me.
Anyway, I admit it was really fun to watch those players I knew playing the game I knew. I just miss the old days xD
