Hi SG Community,
one of the most acclaimed adventure games of all time is now back, better than ever. Grim Fandango Remastered has the all the beautiful art and engaging story fans remember, but has also been remastered to look, sound, and control even better than the award-winning original release.
Good luck to all participants :-)
The aim of this group is to encourage Valve, the company behind Steam, to introduce a legally binding and safe age verification process for adult German Steam users. The goal of the age verification is to give access to games, which would otherwise be cut/censored or not available at all, to those persons who have successfully proven their age.
The larger our group gets, the better the chances are that we succeed. It'd be awesome if you would join our group in order to help us achieve this target! And if you invite your friends you'll help us even more. But none of these two things is a requirement to qualify for this giveaway.

Thanks for the great giveaway!
I remember seeing this large paper cutout of Manny in the stores back then when this first came out, thinking it looked really cool. I sadly never got around to buying it then however, and today it lives up high on my wishlist. So thanks for the chance =)

2 weeks? I might gonna buy it before, because I don't think it will be on sale anytime soon again. Gonna enter tho just in case and thanks for putting it up! Had it on my wishlist for some time now. Already a member of the group as well. :)

Oh, looks like a game about sad dancing. ;-) (Heh, I've seen this adventure being praised left, right and center, so thanks a lot!)

"The goal of the age verification is to give access to games, which would otherwise be cut/censored or not available at all, to those persons who have successfully proven their age. "
I might be mistaken, but doesn't that go against German law ? I always thought that they censored for the entire country, regardless of age...

Not exactly.. apart from a few exceptions (like nazi-symbolism) you could buy and sell uncensored games as long as your age-verification-process fits certain standards. Since you can´t even advertise for indexed games, retail-sellers would have needed to either build an "18-Only" room for uncensored games or rely on customers to ask for certain games directly.. thats why neither retailers nor publishers ever bothered to release two versions (censored and uncensored) of any game and even 18+ gamers had to suffer the censorship.
With digital distribution like steam on the other hand, it shouldn´t be too big of a problem to verify your account as 18+ and get access to the same games and uncensored versions as the rest of the world. Lots of onlineshops and some movie-streaming-services already do this.
At least the general treatment of censorship in games has gotten a lot better over the last years.. in the past the used to cut out the blood in the old Tony Hawk games when you fall down for example and C&C Generals had cyborgs instead of humans.. nowadays we get stuff like Gears of War and Dead Space completely uncensored and there are only a few new releases that have problems in germany.. so its gotten a lot better, but Steam would still do us (and itself) a great favor for new AND older games.
