I'm pretty sure inputting 8 new giveaways would be a lot more complicated since each user adds a random number of giveaways and it'd be extremely confusing for others to know that they should fix a gap that occurred earlier rather than just continuing the train.
Having the existing creators help fill the gap (by renumbering) already required some cooperation and it worked out well!
