Woah... I had no idea this was a Metroidvania.... now I have to get this one way or another.

I'm not sure it is, but it's tagged as that and actually made me want to play it too!

Continuing with my picks:
My unexpected favorite of the last year - Hollow Knight. The game is just so atmospheric, so beautiful and well done! Every move feels fantastic, every animation is masterfully crafted, it's worlds, creatures, music and lore are just excellent. Even it's challenging gameplay is very enjoyable - it's the rewarding kind of the trial and error system, where you learn from your defeats.
And the developers won my support too - the game (and it's very big and full of details) is made by the team of three people, and they are continuing to add new content (not just some small things, but few hour long campaigns) for free. They are indie heroes that deserves all the praise.
Honorable mention - Dust: An Elysian Tail. It's cute to look and fun to play, with lighthearted "enthusiastically mush the buttons - make a combos" combat. It's also made by one person. With all the asset-flipping trash we getting by a ton daily on steam these days it's all the more impressive to see what can actually be accomplished by even the smallest of teams.

Hollow night has caught my attention, I just need to get a copy soon. It looks like a blast and the animation seems to only enhance the experience. c: I'll look into them, I love a good Indie Dev team. Indie is my second most played genre (after RPG) if you can count it as one.
I've stared at Dust longingly a time or two too. You've got me wanting them all over again!
