can you expend your experience with DA:I ? i would love to hear about it (as the reviews are mixed)

Sure. Let's see...
Graphic-wise is amazing, boosting those next-gen technologies and maintaining a nice frame ratio (see my specs at my Steam profile). I was particularly enchanted by the tessellation implementation, which was horrendous in DAII.
Sound and voice-acting according to what BioWare has us used to; really fun and entertaining dialogues while traveling.
Level-design; what a change! These are huge, and gorgeous for the most part. Again, taking full advantage of the new tech.
In regards to game-play, it has been extended in different ways, which I really like. Not only you go on missions with your party, but also send agents to operations through a war table a la Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. You get to customize your own castle with furniture (not Sims style, I'm afraid), banners, etc. You also siege keeps and restore peace to areas which are later visually affected; ex: your own people start roaming around, new areas are unlocked, etc. Certain operations even open new paths in already visited maps. All this gives a certain feel of ever-changing and dynamic environments.
Also, I really appreciate the inclusion of the Strategic View similar to the isometric view in DAO, which allows to pause the action and plan your movements and coordinates attacks. I play every battle in this mode.
Story is not really deep, but it has enough to keep me hooked, and it's quite rare to find a game which does.
There are some interesting characters but I have failed so far to feel that emotional connection characteristic of BioWare.
Unfortunately it suffers of some really annoying bugs. One of them even forced me to restart a two hour battle due to impossibility of progress. In strategic view characters get frozen quite often; which sometime destroys all your planning.
I can't get confortable with the interface; counter-intuitive, cumbersome, not useful enough. It's a constant annoyance.
Similarly, controls. Is not quite obvious if it's meant to be played with KB/M or gamepad. I finally settled with my XBox 360 Controller, but I still feel to be missing something.
Anyway, and as stated before, I'm hooked and enjoying it a lot.
I hope to have contributed to your request. =)

and from rpg genre - maybe some Gothic games? (little old but classic)
rpg with strategy and hexes - King's Bounty series? or without hexes (mix of rts and rpg) -> Spellforce?
