tried the demo: one of the most gorgeous pixel-art ever seen. thanks a ton for this chance, Fet.
if you're unsure, beware, cause "blasphemy" is really there

There's a demo?
Comment has been collapsed.
there was, Timo.
and honestly don't understand why they've made it temporary.

Oh, that's a shame that it was temporary. From your experience, did it play more like a Castlevania SotN style metroidvania, or like a 2D Dark Souls like Salt & Sanctuary?

had to google "Castlevania SotN" :P
i'd say Salt & Sanctuary, it felt very very "classic", as gameplay (and, frankly, tried most for art and theme)

Heh, sorry, I assume that most people are familiar with Castlevania: Symphony of the Night when talking about Metroidvanias.
SotN has challenging boss fights and some really challenging areas, but there are usually convenient save points before both, and I could usually get through most boss fights and areas after a few attempts. I haven't played Salt & Sanctuary yet, but I understand that it follows the Dark Souls mold where every enemy can kill you, and boss fights will kill you, and you'll have to throw yourself at both many times to get past and retrace your progress should you fail. That's why I was wondering if Blasphemous is more like SotN or like S&S.

If you liked this game, you really should grab a ps1 emulator and play some SotN. It is one of those that really defined a genre, and has aged extremely well. The graphics still look really good, and gameplay is awesome.

just asked my mom and she said "no!" to any kind of emulator... :|
(tad more seriously, thanks a bunch for the tip but i really but really shouldn't touch those things... like, time is the new money and i'm very very poor :P)

i have the game and i absolutely love it. it's more like castlevania imo.. doesn't have the deep leveling and crafting like s&s. but it has the difficulty of s&s. there are some pretty unforgiving platform areas too.

That was so fucking stupid.
I would have loved to know what led them to think this was a good move.
"Let's put out a demo and make it available just for a few days"
Duh.

yup, really don't know why... i'd guess to get more hype or smth? really dunno.

Thanks for the giveaway, this looks really good (even if the helmet looks completely ridiculous)!

that helmet it's a... "perforating thing".
edit: my guess

I bet it's related to spanish religious brotherhood clothes
Comment has been collapsed.
it is. the entire theme of the game is inspired by old spanish religious times.
