I recently got this game myself, and it's very fun, but unfortunately I haven't found any servers that were public and had people playing on them. It seems most people still into this game have private servers.

If you win, or get this game in another contest or other means, there is a known bug with the Steam UserID when connecting to multiplayer servers. I know this sounds sketchy, but you can learn more in the support forums. If you have this problem, simply delete (or rename) the UserData folder in your Steam folder, and run Steam, it will create a new UserData (contains things like Settings and Preferences you've changed) and you'll be able to connect.

Does this include single player or is it just the ship?
