I bought Edge of Space via their own crowdfunding site when it was still in pre-alpha and played it for a few hours. It looked kinda promising but they had a long way to go to be the next Terraria (449 hours played, not that that is super accurate). Maybe someone who has played it recently can chime in and let us know how it is these days.

I also bought Starbound when they offered it on their site; that one looks more promising but I haven't played it since alpha either.
