I actually played one of these. I won't comment about my experience, aside from some really effing difficult puzzles, and this annoying voice from a dude making jokes and enjoying my suffering as I ran through that miserable house.
I originally solved these back in the early 90s when they were first released on CD-ROM. I made an open-house patch/crack for the 7th Guest back then for people that didn't want to be forced to play the whole game, but instead just wanted to be able to play any puzzles in any order. :D

I recall I originally played it on my incredible 486 DX2-66 gaming rig. I still have it on CD-ROM somewhere...
