Welcome to the twenty third week of the 52 weeks of Christmas!!! What is the 52 weeks of Christmas you might ask? I will be giving away a new game each week for 52 week. To make things more fun, I will be asking a new question each week also. I hope that by doing this I may brighten someones week. I even create a group on Steam where you can follow every giveaway(link at the bottom).I hope you will have as much fun as I do with this.
New Week, New Questions
Well here we go again, we talked about the fact that Dead Space 3 had micro transactions and many day 1 dlc’s a couple of weeks ago, now EA announced that they will add micro transactions into all of their future games. Now we all know about the possible dangers of micro transactions and already talked about it. So since we already touched on the subject, lets go a different way with this question. What kind of business model(s) do you like or do you think should be adopted in future games?
Also did you like having two questions to choose and answer from?
Response
God bless. :)

What we want is not always what publishers want. I don't see why EA shouldn't proceed as they say. It probably doesn't cost too much to put in place a system like that and I imagine it generates much more revenue. But that doesn't mean I like the idea of paying for cheats.
As someone said on the forum, things like this will only get more inventive and varied.
As long as they don't actively hurt us and people continue to buy the games and use the systems, they will persist.
I'm curious how Blizzard's Starcraft 2 Marketplace will evolve. If they ever manage to actually release it. In a way, that seems like a great idea, selling premium mods for real money. I don't know how it will work though. Will the price be about 1$ per mod? Will I have to pay for each iteration / update of the mod, or just the first time?
I remember them saying that only the absolute best mods will be sold on the marketplace. They went as far as saying that not even Dota would have been good enough to be sold. The best, or maybe second best, mod of all time? Really Blizzard? Arrogance like that caused them to not hire IceFrog before Valve, now they're trying to hit gold again but capitalizing on it this time.
