Description

If I were to dig straight down, my antipode would be in the Indian Ocean, about 2,500 kilometers (1,550 miles) west of Australia's western coast. So, I’d end up far from any land—nowhere near China, like I was told as a child. Where would you end up?

Waipawa in New Zealand. Well, actually around 250km from the point on the sea where my actual sandwitch spot is located. I discovered as a child what were the antipodes, and I had to look somewhere to know they were the kiwis. I was too much of a curious boy in a world where people would not like to answer my questions - because they didn't knew it.

Antipode(s) actually refers to the people living at the other side of the world, not to a place. Tho nowadays it's common to name such place as "the antipodes of", or "my antipodes".

Regarding you, the movie "The China Syndrome" was a big lie since the title credits. And there's no thing such as "nucelar energy". Homer said it.
