I haven't finished the first one, but what I've played of it was pretty good. I've played a lot of games with various "dig out the 2D floor and sell it" mechanics and I like pretty much all of them, from the simplistic Quarries of Skred all the way to Terraria. There's something about it that I find really relaxing, and a puzzle element to them ("how do I avoid causing an avalanche?") that I enjoy as well

The first one is one of my favorite games on Steam, along Monaco. Not only it is a good metroidvania, but the whole digging is superb, and quite addictive. I am looking forward to playing this new one this weekend. Thank you for the oportunity

Loved the first and even love the kind of dry and character-less "Mines of Mars" on Android as a quick fix of mining goodness. Have the first on my 3DS, too, next to my copy of Mr. Driller for maximum drill.
