Thank you very much for this gift :)
I really like games like Life is Strange and this one seems similar to me, so i'm really looking forward to play it soon!

I'm glad to read that. If you want, let me know what you think of the game once you finished it (no pressure, it can be soon or in several years ^^)

I finished my first playthrough today and it was really nice. The graphics, characters, music and overall atmosphere were great and often reminded me of Life is Strange. The amount of choices you could make was really impressive (which is why I'll probably do a new game + playthrough soon) and it was great too that they all played a role in the end (I think i manged to get the best ending possible :D).
I've also already bought the sequel Mile 0 which I'll be playing next.
So thanks again for this great game, it's really worth playing :)

Glad you enjoyed it too :)
I also think I managed to get the best ending ^^. But I cheated a bit. Twice, I restarted an encounter to get a different result.
Life is strange, I started it when I won the first chapter here on SG. But I obtained the full game so long after that I forgot the story. I should probably restart it if the overall atmosphere is giving you the same impression. I remember it was more slow paced, but I may be wrong.
Else I feel the same about Road 96. They find a good formula and polished it in a great way. But in my opinion, it has one slight flaw: the main story seems a bit weak in comparison to the personal story of other characters (who are greats!).
And I also wondered, what the game would be if it was a more roguelite adventure, where you are not allowed to fail in mini-games, where there are more challenges, with more resource to manage ...
Road 96: Mile 0 seems a bit more focused on the main story so I'm curious about the result. You can also add your impression of this game here (no pressure) ;)

Yes, the Life is Strange series is indeed more slow paced. But if you liked Road 96, i can recommend playing Life is strange 2 (which has not really anything to do with part 1) instead, which story is a bit similiar to Raod 96 (it's also about two guys who want to cross the border), but also really well made with great decisions to make.
I think your idea with Road 96 beeing more rogue like ius pretty interesting actually, beacuse it was quite easy to survive for my characters (i only died once to Jarod because of a dumb decision). But I never had to less health or money for something during my playthrough. So if they had added something like a difficulty option would be pretty nice.
I also totally agree with the main story beeing a bit weaker as the character stories, it was really well made how the totally different characters came together in the end. Im also interested in the backstory about some characters like Zoe, i think thats also something that will get focused on in the prequel. Have you already played it?

A road trip in Life is strange 2, that seems great. Maybe I will restart Life is strange directly with the second episode then ^^
No, I didn't phrase it correctly but I haven't played it yet. So I am curious. The reviews aren't as good as for Road 96, so if you play it, I'd also like to know about your impression.

I just finished playing Mile 0 today and it was really fun, but gameplaywise it's a lot different than the main game. There are still sequences where you can walk around and explore the world and lots of choices to make, but a large part of the game is mini-games where you can ride your skateboard through some sort of obstacle course. These are really well made and can also be quite challenging if you want to get the best score possible and I think it's pretty cool that the developers tried something new.
It was also a bit sad that the story focused almost only on Zoe, a new character and a few side characters like Sonya Sanchez, while most of the other characters from the main game only appeared for a few seconds. But I think if each character had their own back story, the game would have been longer than the main game :)
But I still think it's really worth playing if you're interested in what happened before Zoes road trip and what her life was like and how the protest against president Tyrak developed and if you don't have anything againt a shorter story (it took me only 7 hours to complete the game with nearly perfect scores on all mini games) and the obstacle races ^^

Thank you for the overview. It looks nice and almost only positive. And like you said, I think it's great when the developers try something new (Ubisoft should learn to do the same). And it doesn't seem too short at all compared to the main game.
