I encourage you to try this game if you have the opportunity, there is a whole topic dedicated to what people think it's happening in the game with the developer participating and giving small clues and hints. The game isn't too long and separated in three chapters, I highly recommend it and to discuss about the game with other people.
Besides, the next part of that game will soon be available, which makes it even more a good reason to play it now !

Source? It was planned for release in 2016, and the developer then noted it was put on the backburner (ie, still in development, but not her main focus), and then there hasn't been any meaningful word since (though the developer is still active in other pursuits, and still engages agreeably with fans, and has confirmed continued interest & involvement in the project). Speaking as someone who follows the Steam group, and checks the multiple twitter accounts and the various other sites associated with the developer every few months- not seeing anything new [in the sense of indicating a change of circumstances] there, even now. :S
Charnel House Trilogy is nevertheless one of the most recommendable indie games I've played on Steam to date, though, even if it is just set up as a prequel to a larger game which may never actually release.

The developer announced it in the forum discussions explaining it will take time as they are working on other projects at the same time and made some recommendations in the meantime of two podcats to listen which are in the same universe : https://www.thenosleeppodcast.com/

Again, that's nothing new, she's confirmed the continued development (as being on the backburner, but still ongoing) several times.
I was questioning your "will soon be available", as I'm still not seeing any indication of that. In fact, the post you referenced explicitly states "so don't expect it to come out this year or anything", which I interpret as very much indicating the opposite of "soon". Though I guess you could be using the George R.R. Martin interpretation of soon- ie, "it'll probably out before I die, maybe" :P
I'd definitely'd love it to be out sooner rather than later, though..

September is pretty recent to me, then again I'm a very patient person, I worded that badly and you're right in that, but I do appreciate the podcast addition which are part of the world and the fact the dev doesn't just stay silent like many others.

The dev is pretty fantastic, from what I've seen and my own engagements with her.
