I wait till they finish making windows drivers, windows is kinda operational right now, but for example there are no wifi or speakers drivers yet. Once drivers are there and stable I plan to ditch SteamOS and run Windows so I don't have to worry about Proton compatibility.
As for version I got cheapest 64GB, but added Samsung Evo+ microSD with 130MB/s bandwidth and I am very impressed by loading times. W3 save loads in 5-6 secs, it's obviously not SSD speed but doesn't kill the flow of gaming. As all versions have M2 slot I plan to add my own SSD in future but first I'm waiting for Win drivers to see how much speed and performance differs when I change OS.

Not much of a tale, bad breakup, got cheated on, heavy depression episode, went to closed therapy for 3 months, when I finally got back to the world I realized that in the meantime she got busy seizing all of my accounts including things like PayPal and Steam (she had my PC with all passwords and login sessions stored). Most of accounts I managed to get back pretty quickly, not all funds but at least accounts themselves, but Steam Support is fucking useless, they would not accept lists of keys I activated, proof of purchase from webstores, ID scan, they kept demanding photo of some physical purchase I activated and guess what - all my physical games remained with her, as well as everything I owned. Months later with threats of police getting involved, going to prosecutors etc she finally agreed to give my stuff back. Actually turned out that by the time we were supposed to meet she was already gone and just boxes with what she considered less valuable like books, clothes, games etc dumped, anything valuable like hardware obviously not there, but among stuff that was there like I said, games, with physical copies of Steam Keys printed, including my 1st two games ever activated on account (Deus Ex Human Revolution and Skyrim). And only with these photos Volvo finally gave me my account back.

Oh man, what a story. Hope you're doing way, way better now. Don't worry about the stuff you lost. It's just... well, stuff. And Steam support really sucks. What a strange and unrealistic demand. I had a similar situation with my Ubisoft account some years back. They wanted just one random key, preferably an older one. I even did it on the phone. Got my account back within minutes. Valve could really learn a thing or two from competitors. They have gotten too big and can just do whatever they want, I feel.

oh wow, SuperMod :D congrats KA :D
And thank you, I'm much better now, meds-free for over a year already, my career skyrocketed recently as well, hopefully also moving to a new country soon to hold even higher position if my final recruitment call goes fine upcoming Tuesday :D And stuff is stuff like you said, I didn't build new gaming PC yet due to crazy prices on GPUs, so got myself Deck instead, but everything else I've lst I've just rebuilt over time. and once the crypto craze dies off will build new PC then, even better than last one :D I can say that right now I'm best I've been in a long long time, even before break-up.

That's good to hear! Yeah, I also would love to build a new PC, but prices are just too high. At least for GPUs. Since christmas prices have steadily gone down. I hope that this trend continues, and I maybe get a decent price in a few months.
I also bought a steam deck, and it arrived today. Already did some testing. Elden Ring runs well enough to farm a few souls on the go. That's good. ^^ Cuphead is a blast. I might finally finish that game (only played the first half when it was new). Desktop mode is horrible with the onscreen keyboard. But with m+k attached it's pretty cool. Will definitely put lots of emulators on it. One thing seems extremely strange - when I install games on the store page, I can choose between local and SD storage. But not in my library. It always defaults to the SSD then. I don't quite get the logic behind that. But alright, it's a cool gadget, I won't complain too much. ^^

And ofc sending all positive energy I can :)
Seems like it worked, I was able to order my deck today! :D

Nice! I fear I might have to wait for mine longer than I expected. Not for financial but for logistical reasons. The worst of reasons. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
But alas, hopefully they'll have sorted out the support for all the JRPGs and visual novels I wanted to play first, till then. ;)

The Queue has been updated. We now see Q3 and "after Q3" I was "after Q2" I am now Q3.
Many are complaining about being pushed back again. No, were were always back here in the queue. Q3 and "after Q3" are both "after Q2" We just did now know how far after Q2 we were.
I did not hear about it till 2 days after it started, then I took a day before I looked into what was being talked about. So my order date was not until July 19. Note my date is just a data point. There are many queues. Its via region and model. Nor do we know how big the regions are as far as I know.
And of course I want it now. but .... I wait....

Hey. If i understood you correctly, you want my "Exclusive Steam Community profile bundle"? From what I read online:
"You gotta claim it on your Steam Deck and it’s not-tradeable."
But if that's wrong, sure, i'd be willing to trade when it arrives! I'll reply in this thread so you'll receive a notification :)

Question for those who have a deck.
Can a password be set for bootup?
Several youtubers have said they wish it had it. I also thought I saw one mention a bios storage encryption option. But the same people who are looking for a password also ignored that. Seems to me this is the obvious setting for boot level protection. If its not this setting then perhaps something else in the Bios. It was only mentioned in passing and I can't find it again.
So is this a setting in the Bios? Is it related to a boot level pin/password or is it not related or not a factor? It seems like an obvious place for such a function. I've seen several vids go though the menus but none that look at whats in the Bios other then "this is what to click to factory reset". OK but what about the rest of it?
Edit. A proper finger print lock on power on would have been great. Perhaps that's something for a future version of the hardware.
