no bothering, here, neither. but i blacklist sites when they don't "deserve" my trust, "gratitude".
so, to say, sg was black now is white. humble, the opposite. where i had the most "great" results (cause they have to give you something for a whitelist slot), thou, was (and actually is) at dig... tons and tons of "fun" :D
(also, you ARE chocolate for me, Suisse also. so whitelist is mandatory in these cases, here)

I haven't specifically blacklisted it but I also haven't whitelisted it. There are frequently issues with ads on any site and it just isn't worth the hassle of resolving them as and when they appear.

I whitelisted the site a few times, then I always had to put back the filter. The ads made SG crawl to a halt or cause memory leaks all over the place. Just this site (for example, SGTools gets the exact same ads most of the time yet it does not want to murder any of the CPUs of the several computers I use).
I have no idea what is so fucked up on the ads here, but eventually I got tired of the issues and stopped even trying to whitelist the site again.
And no, it is not some specific issue. I am using PCs due to work and travel daily with AMD and Intel CPUs, with OSs ranging from Win7, 8.1, and three versions of Win10, on Vivaldi, Opera, and Firefox. All get borked royally eventually.

SGTools gets the exact same ads most of the time
thought that it seemed the opposite to me. seemed cause i don't have actual results you have, only talking about "simply feeling the browser". visits at SGT are also rare, here.
still, can fully understand your need for cleanliness

Not surprised at the last one Chrome is a resource hog. Cost of being fast.
Is suggest to try out Opera. It is Chrome-based (so pretty much looks the exact same and controls the same), but uses a lot less memory and processor. It has its own extension store, but one of them is to be able to use any Chrome extension, so you would not lose anything.

already tried Opera, and love his "lightness". still, chrome has his fixed 1st place here, followed by Firefox, and then... Opera. i do use both, from time to time (mostly FF).
