Guys, we just revoke "stolen keys", they will be changed to another ones, OFFICIAL! Please, write us down on keys@beholder-game.com with your revoked key
From a forum post in discussion page :)
You are all thiefs here appearently, shame on you

Apparently keys are removed on IGS so no way to tell what they were.
And what https://www.steamgifts.com/user/Dro2o posted it makes it seems people who got the free "stolen" key it does not apply for,
but only those that got revoked by accident.

first : Revoked key "Beholder Beta" (i think this one from official)
second: Revoked key From IGS Store
:/ now dev said "stolen keys" !!!

He is even hanging out people in public for it.

They called the keys "stolen", not the customers "thiefs", though. If you go into a store a buy an item that was stolen, it's still a stolen item.

Sorry, I don't see your point :S What does it matter if you know or not?

You're trying really hard to paint the devs out as bad guys, and you're forcing their phrasing pretty hard to make your point. Keep in mind the developers are Russian and that any miscommunications are far more likely accidental than intentional, given that they haven't in any way indicated hostility or disrespect toward the consumers elsewhere.
Besides, stolen goods always run the risk of being repossessed, so your entire sentiment is baseless.
If a purchase was not legal, then you have no legal rights to the property [since rights of ownership were never actually legally transferred].
If the individual did not know the goods were stolen, then the goods are returned to the owner and the individual is not prosecuted. [>>]

Sooth, no offense seriously... But as much languange barriers as there might be with Russians I do sometimes have a hard time to understand what you are trying to explain because you are really trying hard to use the most uncommon and advanced words known to a non native English speaker :(
Anyway, im not trying to point at the developer as bad guys.. If that's how you've judged it, that isn't the point.
I might just be upset with too many dev misstakes lately on Steam, hence why you think im on a witchhunt or something :D

You must remember though, that people rarely learn from the mistakes of others, they need to make their own :P

While I do use words for accuracy, rather than intentionally being confusing by utilizing only words familiar to those of minimal language education, in this instance I didn't use a single word that isn't very, very, very basic English. o.O;
Anyway, im not trying to point at the developer as bad guys..
You're right, I offered my assessment in unnecessarily rigid phrasing. My apologies for making indications toward your intentions, though it was certainly my strong impression that you were engaging a bit too much in tunnel vision. :X

First: the multiple giveaways were a human mistake
Then: we only revoke stolen keys
Comment has been collapsed.
:/ if stolen keys from IGS
why not revoked from first day ? 1 month is long time to know your key has been "stolen"
Comment has been collapsed.
Seems they were meant for a sale, not to be given away for free (according to devs). That's why they said "stolen" (with quotation marks)

On their steam forum they said:
Due to the unexpected necessity, we will be forced to withdraw some Steam keys.
If you have any problems accessing the game, please send us an email at keys@beholder-game.com with the following information:
1) The key with which you started the game
2) Source of key
3) If you've bought the key - please attach a copy of the payment document
Thank you for your understanding and patience. We are working to rectify the situation.
And "there were several official giveaways from us, right. And these keys will be never revoked. But in case the key has been revoked - unfortunately, this key was not an official one. We are doing our best to rectify the situation with infair keys distribution."
Upd: they've sent me a new key:)

I have an email from one of the developers stating they didn't do any free giveaways for Beholder.
Comment has been collapsed.
It wouldn't be the first time such has been implied for Orly (which, as you may recall, is part of the G2A network- as is HRK, which has also been known to do such).
That said, the developers have noted several times that they did official promotions, but that [IGS did theirs without permission or any notification to the developer when they asked the developer for more keys]. Given that the developer is apparently Russian, it looks like they're having a lot of language barrier issues in trying to communicate things clearly. So it's more likely it was just a misunderstanding, there.

+1 , i hope homocide doing same thing like beholder xD hahhaa...

Well we enjoyed the free key while it lasted. Oh well, time to wait for discounts and get the game legitimately. So far I liked the game.
Those who are pissed by this, well they did the right thing. It's your fault that you "stole" the key from them and there's no one to blame but yourself.
Just consider that it was a free trial.

"Don't worry, everything will be at your e-mail box soon!"
So just try writing them guys, never hurts to try.

Since they seem to be willing to provide new keys, I wouldn't say shady. Possibly unexperienced? Giving keys to new IGS thinking they will pay them anyway, since it was their site's bug maybe?
Comment has been collapsed.
Could very well be that IGS cleared the keys, and dev had no hand in it, but then IGS need to step up.
But unless IGS got batches ready they need to request more from the dev, and yes maybe it went the way you said.
But either one could just state this and this happened, sorry for it, but a dev claiming something about "stolen keys" and to just buy a new one, doesn't make it easier for him.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, yes, it's hard to say without having inside information about what happen. We only know that there was a bug once IGS changed the game from open beta to the release version and that it was still on their list of free games for a short time. What happens with the keys will probably remain a mystery. I wouldn't pay much attention to the dev's wording though, his english seems to be quite bad, actually.
Comment has been collapsed.
I know his english is not great, but if i made a game, and needed someone to read and translate some stuff in chinese because of potential bad publicity, i would get one asap.
He atleast fixes the problem (even if it might not have been his fault) and that is commendable.

"The distribution was made without our knowledge. And now, unfortunately, it's really we who are disgraced"
Indiegamestand wasn't supposed to give them for free, it is their fault. Almost same case than 2K and Games Republic, but in that case 2K decided not to revoke keys for not taking the damage of angry customers and Games Republic has to pay them for all those keys
Comment has been collapsed.
2K has weight to throw around. When you're in the weaker position, you often find yourself having to make unfortunate decisions one way or another. Well, I don't imagine too many people that were actually wiling to buy the game to begin with are actually among those upset over this all, given how persistent the entitlement seems to be among the users involved [and many are pretty blatant multi-accounts, at that].
But yeah, from what I gather from the knee-jerk response and their rushed responses, they only just learned about IGS's improvised promotion.

Polish site. There is a thread here about that, give me 1 sec..... This -> https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/r2OSF/games-republic-store-possibly-closing-down

Price glitches are odd things legally speaking, once money has switched hands and the products been delivered the law(in my country at least) isn't with you. With digital purchases the law defers to terms of services, if they're broke that's when shit hits the fan. The law is catching up with digital sales in that regards.
There is a caveat to that, unless its quite obviously an error. £14.99 isn't clearly an error on Black Friday which is what Civ 6 was, then GR issued refunds immediately without asking 2K if it was ok, this broke their own terms of service which stated upon delivery purchases were none refundable(can't remember exact wording) ,was really strangely handled the entire affair.
With most price glitches, imho the sensible thing would be to take the hit(unless you literally financially can't), its not worth the bad press for the amount of sales you'll get from it. Then its not worth the potential legal wrangle that you could get into. Also things like card farming etc will bring you at least some cash, this however is super shit as the glitch wasn't a huge discount, it was 100% discount. Taking £14.99 instead of £44.99 is shit, but you recoup some cash. Recouping £0 is a tough hit to take(unless you are a huge dev).
I'd say fair play to the dev for honouring the error, fair play as well for cancelling keys for blatant misuse of re-sale.

I sent an email 10 minutes ago and just received a new, working key, so yes they are actually fixing this seriously. For the record, my revoked key came from IGS (free).

Just so everyone knows, there's this message:
Due to unexpected key issues we have to revoke and replace a number of Steam keys.
If you have a problem with accessing the game, send us an email to keys@beholder-game.com and include the following details:
1) The key that you used to activate the game.
2) The source where you got the key.
3) If you purchased the key, then provide the payment confirmation.
All revoked keys will be replaced!
We appreciate your understanding and will do our best to solve your issue.
And I sent a message an hour ago and just received my new key, which hopefully won't be revoked.
So I suggest you all do the same. 😀

Key from IndieGameStand I activated on my account got revoked, sadly.
But, I played beta, and I don't plan to play it furthermore.
It has just happens when I am running a Behold GA but this one is safe ^^

No longer works for new users, it works only if you were previously able to get the game into wallet but wasn't able to grab the key because igs was out of stock
https://indiegamestand.com/free-games/3467/beholder/
if it works for you, enjoy (Screens posted below for proof)
EDIT 1: Game moved from free section to Store https://indiegamestand.com/store/3467/beholder/
EDIT 2: If you added the game to wallet during this promo/bug (it was a mistake at igs end thanks to FateOfOne for investigating & pointing that out) but got out of stock error, keys are restocked and now you can get your steam key.
EDIT 3: Seems like many people got their keys when indiegamestand restocked keys but its out of stock again, so don't give up i will update the thread as soon as news of more stock update is available.
EDIT 4: Keys are restocked
EDIT 5 Out of stock again
EDIT 6 Looks like igs is getting keys in small batches but if you added beholder to your wallet dont give up, Keys are in stock atm.
