not even Gabe got balls to do that. CS community is not like other gamers. They frak your arse up good like there is no tomorrow. I track any supporters of F2P shitness and send my nigerian cousins to rape you at night.

I am serious I gave 14 years of my life to this game not going to regret anything to do bad things to F2p noobs

TF2 was released October 10, 2007, I did not play so I cannot state whether they had items at this time. As of April 29, 2008 they had achievements that unlocked items and on September 30, 2010 they introduced the Mann Co Store and item trading. It wasn't until June 23, 2011 that TF2 finally went F2P.

With all that said, I don't think CS:GO getting items is any indication of it going F2P as it took TF2 over three years from the initial items for it to become F2P.

Yes but the success of Dota 2 and TF2 with being F2P may rapidly increase the chance of CSGO going F2P. I can see it going F2P within 6 months.

Like Dota2? That was always F2P.

No it wasn't.

Unless you're kidding because of all the free copies.

Are you kidding?

No, it was also free, it was free when it released in beta and its free now, it was always free.

Am I going crazy here? If you mean that people sold their own beta copies, that doesn't count.

Yeah and stuff, but actually both of you are kinda wrong.
In the early closed beta Dota 2 was worth a lot, you could trade it for like 20 bucks (worth of games for example). But ofc, you could get it for free too, from various sources, but lots of people didn't know it, and there was like a 2 months queue.

Se yeah, meh, officially we can say, it's ft2 now.

Sorry but I stand by me being right, I admit when I am wrong, but from day 1 this was F2P, just because you could sell the beta invites does not make a difference, then you could say that about any game thats in closed beta...

Btw they went for A LOT more then 20 bucks.

F2P = you can download & start playing the game WHENEVER you want.

And closed beta is closed beta.

No, just no, the closed beta was free, just because some people wanted to buy it off other people doesn't mean it was pay to play, I can sell you a bag of air and air would still be free.

Sorry but no...

the Arms Deal update FAQ says:

Q: Does this mean CS:GO is free to play now?
A: No. The Arms Deal Update is aimed at rewarding the wide spectrum of players who have already purchased CS:GO -- from players looking for new ways to express themselves in-game, to CS:GO’s competitive community getting well-deserved visibility and bigger rewards for their high level of skill.

They'll probably triple their current profits they made off the game within ten minutes of opening the store, so I'd imagine they'll make it F2P.

Ok. Never gonna play it. I just don't use f2p games anymore. Been there, done that - hate it. Fuck microtransactions.

If F2P in 2014 then im all for it, but if F2P in 2013 looks like many people who paid might just go back to the classics

nope. i don't believe any company, ever, gave refunds when their previously B2P went F2P. some loyalty prizes sure but not a refund. you did get your moneys worth out of the game before that after all, right?

Its already confirmed it wont go free to play.
The in game items are just cosmetic and key purchases are just a way to help fund online competitive tournaments.

They saying, it's not free NOW.

But honestly, I do believe, this is only just the first step, and eventually, it's gonna be f2p one day. The pro competitive scene hoping, it's gonna be f2p one day, 'cause it helps E-Sports.
