What's the first entry?

Mine is:

May 20, 2010 Portal - Complimentary (Opt In)

They had a free week of Portal. Everyone who downloaded Portal for free that week got to keep the full game for free, forever.

My first purchase through Steam was The Orange Box. I saw it on sale and remembered my little brother (divorced family, bleh) saying that he played a lot of Half-Life before he joined the US Army. I figured I should see what all the hype is about.

Feel free to tell everyone a little bit about that first entry.

Makes your account feel tainted with its presence doesn't it...I've had to stick it in a group for it's own so I never have to look at it.

Indeed. I put my games in favorite so Im looking only on them, but somehow I manage to waste 20 hrs on blops so it listed quit high in my profile. Thats sucks, wish I could reset game time.

Iv got the same issue...Flops Multiplayer is 12th on my profile with 26.1 hours, and single player is 24th with 10.2...I'm half tempted to leave all the other games paused for a day and half each to push it to the bottom...unfortunately I've got a load of stuff that "Can't be controlled remotely" so no times are recorded.
I've even contacted Valve asking them very nicely to remove it form my account as I find its presence offensive...it didn't work...

First entry was portal, which came free with my laptop, first purchase was half life 2 because I had previously gotten the orange box on PS3 and portal and half life had been the two that I liked the most on them.

(Of course if you asked me now I probably would have bought TF2 instead(did end up buying it like 4 months later), as the console version really does not hold a candle to it)

But that was free and most of my games on Steam are bought from retails (GMG, GG, etc)
The first steam purchase tho was 28 Dec, 2012 - Counter-Strike Complete. :D

My first was the free portal too. I heard about it being free and I was playing the xbox version a week ago and really liked it so I took advantage of it. btw, I think it was free because of the celebration that steam came to mac. But the first real one was when I bought Counter-Strike Source

The Orange Box - Retail. And my second and third entries are Lara Croft GameSpot Demo promo - retail and Left 4 Dead Bundle - Gift/Guest Pass.

The Orange Box was a reward from one of these "Get paid to ____" type places, where I just watched a bunch of videos and clicked on some ads until I had enough on my account to afford it. I was quite proud of my first Steam games. :) The demo was from a code given out to GameSpot members, which was only slightly earlier than the public demo for that game. And the Left 4 Dead bundle was a gift, obviously. :p
