don't know to what degree this is possible in Germany.
I'll check out the GMG stuff tho. I wish I had known earlier just how much money you can save by trading games for keys. Although I'm still spending too much money on games I'll not play for the time span of about 15 more sales

well, lets do the math:
10 minutes a day time 360 days a year is 60 hours of time spend. since you buy mostly bundeled games (not going for the BTA) i suppose you spend about 1$ per game on average. so in total roughly 400$ in that year.
thats an earning of about 6.67$ per hour.
now compare that to the potential earnings from a small job in your region to check, if you "wasted" your time :)

But small jobs make you do things like cook the fries or shovel the dirt. He's doing things that can be accomplished while watching football after a long day at whatever big job you happen to have.
Tremorgames + laptop + couch + commercial breaks = piles of free stuff
That's not wasting time, it's unwasting it.

well, i completely avoid tv commercials, by using time-shift and skipping them (i start a movie, press pause, do something else for 20 minutes and then watch) or i just record a movie and watch later without commercials. I can do something fun or useful in that time.

~$7 an hour might seem like nothing but keep in mind I'm not taking a bus to go flip burgers for that money. This is me logging in 10 minutes in a day from my PC where I would have otherwise just watched a useless youtube video or something.
I already have normal income, the point of this is to buy my games without dipping into my "real" money as I said in the OP.

its nice for you and i assume you already did the math for yourself.
but for other people it might be interesting to know that it is not as "free" as it looks. you just avoid spending money by investing time. erveryone should do the math for themselves and decide whats best for them.

100% agree. People should be able to tell by the OP that these methods will require a small time investment from them and they should be able to decide if it's worth it.
Nothing is every "free", even this site requires you to enter giveaways manually thus investing some time to try and win some free games :P

TL;DR: a year of tedious tasks (median of 7.5 minutes per day {not counting playfire rewards} = 45.6 hours per year) for the equivalent of one minimum wage paycheck (8 hours per day = 40 hours per 2 weeks)
Literally work a job for two single weeks in addition to OP's outline to DOUBLE YOUR MONEY FOLKS. Sweet scam
100% worth it if you are under the age of twelve.

Earning money this way works out to about $7 an hour, nothing amazing but this is from my laptop in between shows for a few minutes a day. I'm not taking a bus to McDonalds to flip greasy burgers, I'm watching a few videos on mute and downloading a few apps to my mobile phone.

Come, I'll teach you the ways of the virtual felt. It's a much better hourly for roughly the same amount of your free time.

What, like poker/gambling? Not really my style, not much of a risk taker :P
Unless you're talking about something else.

minimum paycheck in which country? you should know that minimum wage in different countries can be waaaaaaay different
just FYI at my country it is exactly 403,19$ for a MONTH so wish you luck with buying 368 new games. Especially that if you earn that money, you spend way more % of your income just to osurvive to your next paycheck

Naturally it varies worldwide. Rather than list every country by GDP, I went with the most applicable-- a rough average of the declared country on ageof's steam profile. I'm not claiming it to be empirical and was simply illustrating a point. Everyone is free to do what they want with they're own time.

what ive been doing is this
In the passed when i started working i would get the latest games on day 1 or that week. spend a lot of money cause why cause i want to talk about it on forums be the cool kid what not. i ended up with so much i dont play.
also noticed that if one is patient enough prices goes down.
1st Consoles wait a year or 2 and prices goes down. no big deal considering i refused to get a Xbox 360 at first till dead rising changed my mind and PS3 well it was MGS4 that did that or so. PC games its been on and offthe last 2 decades. but PC im loving steam as there is always sales if you patiently wait get 3-4 games you really want to play.
DIscovering this site is what is my next step is trying to make money on steam with cards but first get higher levels in order to get more out of it. also check out free keys what not that PC gamer is giving away etc etc. but neverthe less
Patience is what we all need to do. WHy pay 50$ for a game when in 3 months it will be 20$ and when its sale it can be 5$ you get my drift.
Free games part mm free is good but not always wht you want (till i found this place).
unsure how the points work here got quiet a few now donno how though (235 as i went to bed and work and now 24 hours later mmm not bad i think)
thanks for the OP i will def check his methods out i have tried the whole check the download ringtone site crap but that is more scam than anything. which luckly i work for a carrier so ill block it off my 4th number.
Playfire havent been on there for a while and dont remember this but heard about it.. im not big on surveys etc.

I managed to pick up a small handful of freebies off Tremorgames myself without having to resort to any of those awful "offers" that want sign ups/credit card info that are clearly only for the absolutely desperate.
Three free games is still three free games. Can't complain about that.

Meh. I'm too lazy to do all that stuff. I only do Playfire and cards and only sometimes.

So, I tried the app trailers and I found it very buggy. This is what I sent the support, ot explains it a lot better:
Hello!
I am sorry to say that I am displeased in your product "App trailers". I find it very buggy, which are listed below. My phone model is "Zopo ZP980". I also verified these bugs on an android virtual box called "Blue Stacks".
First of all, after logging in on facebook and entering my paypal email, I proceeded to use the FREE Daily Scratch. After being clicked, App Trailers decided to crash. In history, it was counted as a loss. Bravo.
Second bug or flaw in general: The program is crashing once in a while. This happens more often on my android device, less in the emulator.
Third, rather suspicious activity/very serious crack in the code: There seems to be a commercial sometimes before the main "commercial" (mostly by supercell). When it doesn't appear before the commercial I actually clicked for, I don't recieve points at all. If this isn't a bug, it's outrageous that you actually reward users only by them viewing your irrelevant commercials, while you put the actual buyer's cash to your own pockets. This is the most serious flaw. This happened on BOTH virtual box and Zopo. I am surprised and disapointed in this quality of coding. I can say as a programmer, that this must be written in a hurry or you're practicly ripping off potential buyers who aren't aware of this problem.
This concludes my bug report. Here are some answers you might want to know about my phone and other thing that might be the source of problems, so you can't put the blame on my software/hardware.
FAQ ABOUT MY PHONE/VIRTUAL BOX/EVERYTHING RELATED
Android device:
Zopo ZP980
Q: Is it rooted?
A: No, it has stock kernel and operating system, no changes made what so ever.
Q: What are the chances of you having a virus?
A: Minimalistic. I have a virus protection and I'm very sceptical of everything on the internet. I don't trust anything completely but myself, therefore my phone has almost no apps and not a single game.
Q: Where did you download App trailers?
A: In the android app market.
Q: What Android version do you use?
A: I am currently using the stock version of 4.2.1.

Well, obviously I meant "new to me". When someone says "I bought a new game" they mean it's something they didn't own before, not that the game is a new release.

The only Supersonic offers I do are the videos and the iPhone apps. Everything else looks too shady.

@ageofarmageddon
What you mean use playfire to get games since I don't see anything for redeeming games when I checked it out.

Playfire Rewards. Once you link your Steam to Playfire Rewards, check the rewards list and it will show which games are currently paying reward credit. Then you just need to earn the achievements they specify and you get paid in GMG credit.

Thanks for the informative post! I hadn't heard of most of your suggestions. I joined Tremor 2 days ago and already have earned several free games. :)

Awesome! Do that every week and you'll have 520 free games in one year's time :)

June 8th, 2013. My financial situation changed quite a bit so I decided that I was not going to spend any more "real" money on games. At the time, I had 646 games and this was more than enough that I couldn't justify using my bank account or credit cards on buying more.
I decided that from that point forward I would use "free" online money to buy games instead. This was also an experiment to see how viable this method was; after all, what did I have to lose?
The result? I recently cracked the 1000 game mark, obtaining a total of 368 new games in the span of 1 year!
In case anyone was curious, in a similar situation or simply doesn't have the money for game - these are my current methods:
Cards. Steam Trading cards are a staple in my virtual cashflow. Having a decent amount of games to start off with helped quite a bit in having lots of games to obtain card drops from. Making sure you always have more cards coming in is key, more on that in a bit. Here's an idea of how much cards can earn you.
TremorGames. Tremor is useful in two ways when going the "online money" route. First and most obviously, the tasks earn a virtual currency that can be used to buy games. Pretty simple, trade some time for some games like any other job. The key to getting the most bang for your buck, however, is taking advantage of their bundle splits. They buy most bundles and allow you to cherry pick the games you want from them. This means you can use it to only grab the 1-2 good games from a bundle or to grab only the games that have cards! Keeping a constant influx of card dropping games into your library helps a ton. Note: Some users have noted that depending on your country, you may have more or less offers available.
Playfire Rewards. It doesn't get much easier than this. Play your games, get GMG credit to buy more games!
FreeMyApps. So easy and simple, it's hard to believe it works. Download free apps to your phone and get rewarded with Amazon gift cards. A $5 card is earned so fast that I always have more Amazon credit than I know what to do with. Note: Some users have noted that depending on your country, you may have more or less offers available.
Apptrailers. Similar to FreeMyApps, except here you watch videos on your phone. Easy to just glance over, hit a video and look away - repeat as much as you'd like. Pays in Paypal which is very useful for buying bundles. Note: Some users have noted that depending on your country, you may have more or less offers available.
Trading. Trading with other users can really help stretch that dollar. Use the money from card sales to buy TF2 keys instead of games on Steam. $10 games can often be obtained for 3 Keys, which works out to about $7 when buying from the Steam Market. As well, your spare bundle keys can often be traded for Trading Cards, further boosting your total card sale profits.
Patience. Never buy anything that isn't 75% off or more. Skip the BTAs in bundles, the BTA games will show up in the $1 tier of some other bundle down the road. Pinch every penny, when earning them comes much slower you need to really make every dollar count :)
And that's about it. I want to stress as well that I spend about 5-10 minutes a day on the things listed above (besides Playfire, which I don't count as "work"), this isn't a full time job by any means :) Do note, some users have noted that depending on your country, you may have more or less offers available from a few of these services. These are just the methods that worked for me, your mileage may vary. Thanks for reading (if you bothered to do so) and I hope I might have helped at least one of you get some new games! As one last thing, here is a Wayback Screenshot of my account 1 year ago and a link to my profile as it appears now!
