I like the idea but to make the programming less complex, alternatively what about putting the primary group on the top next to the whitelist option and then sort the groups by their members? Giveaway groups usually have only a few members and this would push all those up to the top of the list.

When creating a giveaway, it's somewhat hard to navigate through all the groups if you have a large number of them. On SG1 they were listed with title only and sorted in a deeply mystical way (at least for me). The current solution is visually better and a lot easier to navigate through than the old one. But that doesn't mean it can't be improved!
I propose giving users the ability to pin a few (3-6?) groups to the top of the list. It would be a small change that would bring much comfort to creating group giveaways.
