Updated: April 15th ~ Batch 5 (6 games added - same ticket to board the train)

A Small train with some giveaways that are RogueliKes/Roguelites. I plan to add to this train in the future (when/if I do I will bump the post). The train is Lvl 3+ and is boarded backwards. Why? Cause RogueliKes, that's why. BUMPs/thanks are appreciated. Sorry the discussion is a little earlier than the giveaway start time. This is my first train and I wanted to make sure I set it up properly.

To get your ticket to board the train, find the bolded letters in the message above, reverse the order, and place them in a giveaway link.
Example: https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/54321/

  • March 18th ~ Batch 1 (6 games added)
  • March 25th ~ Batch 2 (6 games added)
  • April 1st ~ Batch 3 (6 games added)
  • April 9th ~ Batch 4 (6 games added)
  • April 15th ~ Batch 5 (6 games added)

[Yes] I love them. It is one of my favorite genres.
[No] I hate them. Fight, Die, Repeat! How original...
[Potato] I don't care about games or genres, I want potatoes! 🥔

I like roguelikes, just not all of them and am generally not very good either xD

I LOVE the cardbuilders, because it gives me time to think I've beaten Slay the Spire and Monster Train.

I also really like Hades, Rogue Legacy, that castle one humble gave away ages ago, but am not able to beat those.

Spelunky was a meh for me;. Binding of Isaac I just couldn't get into, for some reason

Yea, everyone has their preferences. I personally struggled to get into Spelunky back when I played it on Xbox (though it was probably one of my first roguelikes). I haven't been back to it, but I did rebuy the original Spelunky on Steam. My other firsts were probably Enter the Gungeon, Dead Cells, and The Binding of Isaac (again all on Xbox - which is where I used to do the majority of my gaming before switching to PC).

And I agree they can be very difficult. I have spent countless hours in Enter the Gungeon, and only beaten the "High Dragun" in a couple of runs. I think on my Xbox save I was able to build the "Bullet That Can Kill The Past", but I never did a successful run into the final "Bullet Hell" chamber to kill the player's past. It was even longer still until I found out that the "Resourceful Rat" had his own secret chamber and boss fight (which I still have never made it to).

That is part of what I love about Roguelikes though. The huge amount of content to find/unlock, and that constantly gets added to games through updates over time. The Binding of Isaac is a great example of that. It started as a flash game, got remade as The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, and went on to receive 3 substantial expansions to the game (Afterbirth, Afterbirth+, and Repentance) each adding new bosses/characters/items/etc. (Dead Cells has also received a lot of DLC)

It's still early for me to say this, but I have a 2nd batch (with a few different games) that I plan to add to the train once these end.

This is good news, I hope I won't miss it by accident =)

Needless to say, my answer was - [Yes] I love them. It is one of my favorite genres ^_^

My last roguelike/roguelite game is "Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos". I tried for a long time to win it at SG, but it didn't work out, and I bought it on Steam, while it's still possible 😄
The game turned out to be cool, as I expected. Sometimes it can be difficult, but very beautiful and interesting ✨

I love these games.
I've played two isaac parts (original and Rebirth) for a total of over 300 hours.
I also completed Hades (57 hours) and some other games. This is great.
PS: I seem to have tried all possible combinations of these characters but could not find the correct order. What am I doing wrong?

  • Go through the original message and write down the bold characters in order (zoom the page to find the i that blends in)
  • Reverse the order
  • Replace the 5 characters from a giveaway link with those 5 characters in their reverse order (ex: https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/54321/ ). This is case sensitive (upper/lower case matters).

Thanks I did it (it seems I was too diligent - before that I tried more than 20 options).

Glad to hear that you got it 🙂 Hopefully you don't own all the games, and if you do check back next week for Batch 2.

Bump! Depends on RL, most of the time looks like a scam, bad games disguised as innovative because "infinite possibilities" (and infinite monotony). But there's some really good games, specially when there's a nice co-op (possibly even local), like Risk of Rain
