Knee Deep is very Telltale-ish from what I've heard
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
Spec Ops: The Line (maybe)
Fable
1979 Revolution: Black Friday
Star Wars KOTOR 1 & 2 (irrc)
Deus Ex franchise
L.A. Noire has a nice story
The Witcher franchise probably

Sorry, but Bloodlines, Fable and Spec Ops are nothing like Telltale games (don't know Knee Deep) only know Knee Deep in the Dead ^^.

Yes, not very much like a Telltale, I've added games that should be with a nice story and decisions (didn't play them all, just read about them in reviews). :)

  • The Descendant
  • Blues and Bullets
  • D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die

EDIT:

Not like Telltale, but absolutely story-focussed and (at least for me) great story experiences:

  • Virginia
  • The Vanishing of Ethan Carter
  • Firewatch
  • To The Moon

Just a warning for Blues and Bullets. It seems the game is dead, the season pass no longer in store and refunds are available for anyone who got the season pass. With that said, Episode 1+2 were solid.

As fco already said - must (games are old, but have deep, strong story), so you may at least watch playthroughs on Youtube. But better play them yourself, they definitely worth some of your time.

Chapters is a direct continuation off Dreamfall. Dreamfall is split among three characters, one of which was the protagonist of the first game.

In other words, you need Dreamfall 100% for Chapters, and Longest Journey 33% for Dreamfall.

Best to start from the beginning, really. :X

Just a bit of warning: while Chapters and the first Dreamfall are basically interactive animated movies, The Longest Journey is a classic point-and-click adventure game with actual puzzles (it's definitely the best one out of the whole saga to my mind, but tastes differ). You'll mostly get the plot if you choose to play only the Dreamfall games, but a lot of important allusion will evade you: for example, the ending that's deeply emotional for those of us who followed the saga from the beginning will be, well, just an ending for you, it'll even be a bit confusing. But yes, The Longest Journey saga has one of the best stories I've ever seen in games.

Remember Me has a nice story (despite the fights aren't that good), and was made by the same team who made Life Is Strange

  • A Story about my uncle (nice mechanics and story, not so much in the decision part)
  • I Have no Mouth and I must Scream (Very good story and decisions are crucial, but it's old and hard as nails)
  • Papo & Yo (It's a puzzle/platformer, but with wonderful art and story)
  • The Dig (one of the best stories in an adventure game, ever. Also old and pretty hard)

Not exactly what you are looking for, but you might be interested in Orwell. I have only tried the demo though, didn't play the whole game.
