Portal 2, from a retail copy I found in a bargain bin 5 years ago. I downloaded it, and found out you had to have this thing called "Steam" to play it (I was pretty much only using consoles before)

And here I am today.

The Orange Box (physical copy) and when i got it i was all like "Wtf is this Steam shit?

My first key activation was for Half-Life 2, on August 16, 2008. I didn't get to play it for an age, though, because my modem was too slow to update the damn thing (bought retail, and on sale surely, from the late lamented J&R Computers, in downtown Manhattan).

The first game I bought ON Steam, on Jul 17, 2010, was Defense Grid: The Awakening.

Orange Box, first game that I ever had that required steam. About 800 games since then too.

DOTA 2, fuck my life

TF2 back in 2010 when it was still a game you had to pay for. I had played it on xbox 360 for a really long time and was so stoked to get it on PC... only to have about 41 hours eight years later lol

Call of Duty MW2 retail, bought it for multiplayer on release and was surprised that it needed Steam to play

Ticket to Ride was my first game, got keys from Days of Wonder because I owned the game from their website. This was their way to get everyone on the new version of the game for new maps. I didn't get my second game on steam until a year and a half later, Smallworld 2, then another 7 months until, Talisman: the Digital Edition. Then another 6 months before I found out about freebies, and the floodgates opened :)
