It's still a bit later.

Steam price hike. Usually the CDN Dollar is worth a few cents less than the USD. Right now it has slumped to 10 cents less but in a month or three it will be right back up again, it just does this from time to time. Thing is I bet when the CDN dollar is at or near par, the prices will remain 10% higher.

Looks like I'll be spending next to nothing in the store from now on, back to trading for everything >.<

Aside from the newer titles from most publishers (closer to 15% in terms of new, 59.99 releases, interesting enough, the new civilization didn't change in price.), the prices went up 10%, exchange rate right now is about 10.4% from every us dollar. Buying with credit cards/paypal tends to bump the rate less favorably towards you.
As long as the canadian dollar doesn't start going up (not that that wouldn't be a good thing) you're still saving a bit on everything that didn't jump 10 bucks.

Yeah, true. My main problem is I use wallet cards for everything, so now those set amounts won't get me as much, even if they are actually saving me a bit on some things now.

Same. I always used $20 Steam Wallet cards to put money in my Steam Wallet. Now I need to buy two cards to buy a $20 USD game.

Yeah, and those little $2 and $5 "activation fees" EB hits us with on them will just make it that much worse. Not impressed with this change at all, might go back to just trading for bundles to help offset the costs. Plus that'll give Valve as little money as possible. :D

It just changed. I have a dollar more in my wallet. Haven't checked the games pricing though...

I feel like the change is ok for now but I'm really wondering how this will be adjusted with time. The Canadian Dollar just lost some ground in the last few weeks but if it ever gets back up then we'll end up losing unless they adjust the prices again. I'm not sure what this move brings for Steam, just seems to me like more troubles for nothing.
It seems like most of the prices only went with a 10% increase.. some a little more but there are a few exceptions that just stayed 1:1 from US price.. Strider, Resident Evil 4, Child of Light, Dragon's Lair 1 and 2 to name a few. Also some people mentioned Ubisoft games.. the whole Ubisoft catalog seems to be 1:1 from US prices with the exception of their new releases.. AC Unity and Far Cry 4 took a big bump, where AC4 is using the 10% rule (but Gold Editon and any DLC are 1:1), also Watch_Dogs is not available in the CA Catalog so far.

Everything is reasonable except for Ubisoft games, it looks like. Far Cry 4 went up 10$. Apparently 60US = 70CAD now. Ubisoft can blow me.

Kind of odd really. Canadian stores always had the same prices as USA. If a game was $59.99 USD it was $59.99 CDN as well. Now on Steam it will be $65.99 to buy it on Steam or $59.99 to buy a 'Steam key in a box' Retail copy?

Well, a lot of games are $69.99 CAD to the $59.99 USD now via the box. At least digital prices have only been hiked a little, so far anyways. In some ways, the hike in price is not that bad because now we don't have to pay the ridiculous conversion fees.

I was just talking about PC games as Steam doesn't sell console stuff.

If the timing is at the usual time of day steam does stuff, the new canadian prices is going to come in in about 5 minutes.
Will there be new price glitches? Will stuff inflate in price? Will timbits come with every purchase?!
Stay tuned.
No price glitches but we do save a bit, for the most part.
