And as you seem to be keen on the topic. From a genetic stand point a human being can either have XY or XX chromosomes translating that into either male or female, isn't the forms of trasngenderism (I hope that I got the word right) a medical condition due to a desregulation of hormonal levels and not a gender per se?
And I want to say I totally respect them as any other human being. I just had that doubt.

There's XXY, XXYY, XXXX just to name a few other chromosome variations. I believe those all count as different genders.

And I'm going to say it again I totally respect people with those disorders just in case someone mistakes my words. However they are suffering from a medical condition.

Intersex is becoming more well known and understood, if I remember correctly, and isn't necessarily a "condition", simply an unusual occurence. Socially, rather than genetically, there are also third genders (or more) that, I'll admit, I don't have the first fucking clue about, even after reading that article a few months back, so I won't comment about them to avoid being offensive.

Biological sex is actually rooted deeper than that... In short, there is a piece of genetic material located on the Y chromosome that is absolutely essential to be phenotypically male (Google SRY if you are truly curious). So you can have an XY genotype yet still appear, for all intents and purposes, female, and never know about it until you get a karyotype for some unrelated reason.

Sex and gender is a very multi-faceted subject which can be very, very sensitive to people because of cultural differences and general misunderstanding of the subject.

Gender isn't genetic. It's a social construct. Sex is genetic, and actually can be things other than XY or XX, such as the XXY or XYY males and XXX females. But transgender has to do with XY or XX (or any of the other three) individuals feeling that socially, they differ from the norm for their given sex, and relate more with the normally assigned gender for members of the opposite sex.

You got hostility for an answer, which is exactly why the mods asked you to stop, so hostility wouldn't keep going, yet you decided to keep it up.
Also, the rule you broke was the all important, "please be considerate at all times." You knew the topic was a volatile one, you knew the mods had asked you to stop, yet you kept going, being very inconsiderate of everyone's wishes.

It's volatile because at the time you asked it, there was currently an argument on exactly that topic. It was an argument, might I add, that the mods just asked everyone to drop. How could you not think that asking a question directly relaated to this argument would reignite the argument?

That's like if there's an argument about the Zimmerman trial (sorry if you're not American, it's just the easiest and most current hot button issue that comes to mind) and the mods tell everyone to stop. Then you go and ask "but what's the deal with gun control, any way?" and you get banned. You weren't asking about the trial, you were asking about how the laws worked, yet it's directly related to the discussion and could very easily reignite the argument that mods just told you to drop.
Not only are you arguing semantics, but it looks like you're trying to find a loophole to get around the mods asking to stop. And once again, the mods asked you to stop and you didn't. That alone is enough for a ban anywhere I've ever been to.

You violated a rule by continuing, plain and simple. That's it. The mod asked you to stop, you didn't, you were banned, you deserved it. And again, that's not to mention the fact I mentioned earlier, that you DID violate the 'be courteous' rule by continuing a hot button issue in the first place. You say you're cool with the ban and taht you deserved it, but then you spend an hour arguing how it's totally unfair and that the mod is probably abusing his power by giving you a ban you don't deserve. Based on your use of the term 'circlejerking' (which, by the way, is an incorrect use. Literally everyone here says you were wrong. When that happens, it's likely that you're actually wrong) and your other responses, I'm going to guess that you're either 15 years old and going through the 'fuck da police' phase or you're 24-ish still with a minimum wage job or at the bottom of the corporate ladder because you have problems with authority. Either way, you really need to grow up and realize that just because you're technically not breaking the rules (which, again, you were), that doesn't mean anything when you act like an ass.

But the point is, that is when you should have shut up, but instead you went on to moan about the decision, twice. That is why you got banned.
If a police officer asks you to stop doing something, and then you go ahead and insult the officer, he can arrest you. Thats the kind of thing that happened here. Yes it sucks, censorship always does, but thats the way it is.

And regarding your analogy. If a police tells me to stop I'll do so if I'm breaking any rule, if not I'll ignore him or present a formal complaint towards its superiors. That's gotten me into trouble before, but hell.

Being provocative and hostile are two different things. To my knoweledge, Mr. Castiglia was provocative, and seems like that was too much for moderator. When I look this from objective point of perspective, it seems like these two, mod and Haddock, had an argument about sexes. When Mod got lost with his own premises, he took administrative tools as a part of discussion, thus banning Mr. Castiglia from conversation.

No se como decirlo en inglés, pero como veo que hablas español... Viendo el chat me entró la misma curiosidad. Yo creo que los otros sexos no son "sexos", sino como alteraciones. Well, this evening I was banned on SG chat for trying to have a discussion on biology.
Here is the chat log (disregard it being in Polish, I messed up my steam settings before) if you want to read it.
There was some kind of shitstorm going on there I did not really cared about but I somehow thought that gender was binary on the human species and when somebody say it wasn't I tried to ask why. People got rather rude towards me telling me things like, go back to class, I don't give a shit and I'm not here to teach you so my thirst for knowledge couldn't be saciated and I kept asking.
Well, when I got fed of people not answering to my legit, curious inquiries as I was repeatedly been told to kind of shut up. I dropped the discussion when I was told so (even if I think there's no rule regarding discussions in chat) but I did point out, though, that I didn't like that trend of silencing people you don't agree with. I got banned, I guess for that.
Well I'm rather confident I broke no rule as I've just re-read it and it said nothing regarding this case. It does say be considerate, and I think I was (even if people were rather rude towards me though) so well. I just wanted to post this for discussion.
Do you really think I deserved a ban? Do you really want this circlejerking statu quo in the chat?
