Giving us multiplayer for Stardew Valley for free even though the game probably doesn't bring in much money anymore is really awesome!

Weeeell, don't let me influence you--I changed my mind after reading some responses here and went with CDPR (because GOG and their fight for old and DRM-free games). I otherwise might have gone with Obsidian, but I have not updated the OP as of yet.

I went with CDPR :)
There are 3 other studios I'd kind of like to nominate too: Codename Entertainment, Blue Wizard Digital and Artifex Mundi.

Valve, i mean the support for csgo gas been ramping up lately, i like that.

Ahhh telltale? The ones who didn't give their employees any notice and nearly left their paying customers hanging with the rest of the walking dead? Yeah let's hope everyone follows their example right?

I don't really want to nominate someone out of pity. Plus Telltale laid off most of their developers and didn't offer any severance package so they were just left out in the cold which is screwed up. Bethesda just released the terrible Fallout 76 so why would anyone vote for them. Maybe when Bohemia Interactive finally finishes developing DayZ I'll consider voting for them but we know that's never going to happen because that game is a scam. I think the nomination should go to an indie dev that's made a really great game at a great price, with little to no bugs, and no microtransanctions or questionable dlc.

It doesn't have to be indie as long as it's a good company making good games and cares about a good experience for customers, which I hear CD Projekt is. Thing is I've never played a Larian Studios game or a CDPR game even though I have Witcher 1-3. So I do trust the majority of gamers when they say they're a great developer but I feel you should have played a game from them for your vote to be legit.

Mega Crit Games for their amazing work on Slay the Spire.

Agree about the spoiler, yeah. Too damn anticlimactic. Especially since I played it with friends (Streamed to them on Steam and we solved the case together) and I was totally afraid because I knew there were ghosts in the game, yet I hadn't seen one

Ghost Ship Games because of the Diggy Diggy Hole Simulator .
So far updates were stellar and doesnt seem to stop anytime soon.

I went with ConcernerApe, due to his attachment and procedural updating of Stardew Valley. It's one of the games which have really became a passion to me and the fact that he keeps updating it and even added multiplayer for absolutely free makes him a developer worthy of the award in my eyes !

Same! Dude does it all alone and still updates. I gave ConcernedApe my vote too!

My thought is that we should consider nominating Telltale Games as the "Developer of the Year" because this is their last year ever as a studio.
As an outpouring of Fan Love and Appreciation for all their years of great, good, and not-so-good games, lets nominate them this year. It will be, among other things, a nice pat on the back for them--audience applause, if you will.
On the other hand, I have become aware of some not-nice financial actions towards their now-former employees. Do what you will. (You were going to anyway. ,-P)
Alternates for me include Bethesda, Traveller's Tales (if I could figure out how to do so--they do not have a steam page), Bohemia Interactive, Irrational Games, Bioware, and CD Projekt Red.
Your thoughts?
