Will you consider the Epic Game Store your new default library?
I noticed something about the Epic store that I don't like. I am not one of those people who are all like "hurr durr, I hate Epic just because." Some games that I already own on Steam or GOG that have mac versions, don't have the same on EPIC. Torchlight, Limbo etc. That would be reason enough for me to stick with Steam where I have more options.
I was grateful to get a couple of games that I don't have on other platforms though and do have a mac version, epsecially Subnautica.

Yeah, I know. =(
I was just surprised to see games that I already own DRM-free versions of not having Mac option on Epic. Especially since I got DRM-free copies along with my Steam key via Humble at some point as well. XD

This is why one of the epic exclusive's kickstarter community got upset. The game was promised for Windows and Linux, and on Steam it's easy to do that. But Epic is only for Windows...
also a certain duck would say that you should just get rid of your Mac, and embrace the light. Along with Discord's light mode

No, epic works on Mac too. lol. Many of the games are mac compatible including Subnautica, Slimerancher etc (I don't own those ones on Steam.) I was just bringing up the point that some of their freebies that are being provided by just about everyone as a mac version are windows-only. ;) I have Torchlight for mac DRM-free on Humble bundle library since I bought the steam key there. Also have it via GOG connect.
As for the other thing...rofl... no way I'd get rid of my mac. :P I'm a graphic designer and mobile app developer. All of the studios I have worked in are outfitted with macs. People don't realise this, but you cannot design cross-platform iOS/Android apps on a Windows machine, you have to do it on a Mac. People generally think that macs are bought purely for hipster reasons and that's why they get mean. Got my first one in 2003 as a necessary part of going to design school. XD. Would never go back to windows because that is half of my life now and I've become accustomed to working on it. Now maybe in the future, I might buy some Windows machine purely for gaming, but not right now XD.

Meh, lol. I prefer the real deal. Most people I know who code on a grander scale than I have both a MacBook Pro and a Windows machine. My main job is graphic designer, but at times, I have to co-design/code apps for clients, so I just use my mac for everything. :)
My MBP is a 4 years old now. At the time, I deliberately bought the late 2012 model new (around the time they stopped making them) because I wanted something with components that weren't glued together so I could do as I pleased with it. I hate apple as a company, trust me. It is possible to love macOS, but hate Apple. XD. As I need to, I upgrade it some. The cloud thing just sounds like a pain in the ass, personally. That's okay if someone only needs it for short amounts of time. I can't imagine it actually compiling code as fast as a real machine does.

Nah, I didn't bother. Hehe! I already own the games on Steam anyway. However, it would be the thing that would make my decision for me if it came to switching where to buy my games. ^^

WOW
Won Mutant Year Zero here and got Hyper Light Drifter via twitch prime but... these are awesome games.

It was in a recent Humble Monthly. It's almost worth unsubbing now, since Epic keeps giving away the early unlocks for free.

Well Moonlighter and Hyper-Light Drifter were both headline games on HBM.

Next weeks two games are damn good to get for free, like damn !!!!
Not gonna play it on Epic though ... will wait till I get it on Steam, or until Epic implements a achievements and time tracking system to their games. Then I might be interested, otherwise, screw it, it's a free game to add to my library :).

So many people here just gagging to give their details to a corrupt chinese company, and support a company that is desperate to damage the industry and remove consummer choice and rights, for a free game that can be taken back off of them at a moments notice.
This is why we can't have nice things.

And you are 100% sure that steam is the good one but epic is the bad one?
And you are 100% sure that epic is a chinese company?
And you are 100% sure that epic is "desperate to damage the industry and remove consummer choice and rights"?
What do you know about steam? What do you know about Steamgifts? Do you trust CG? Why are you here?

desperate to damage the industry and remove consummer choice and rights
So they are burning tons of money to damage the industry ?
They are a company that like every company want to make money (yeah, steam cares only about money too)
They are not marvel villains
Stop this cringe and start thinking with your brain

hmm...not sure why, but I'm not able to pick that one up. Is this a regional thing? Are you able to pick it up?

Tried again and now it works. Thanks for your reply :)

Mutant Year Zero/ Epic (Failure) must be desperate for users if they are giving that away. Surprised the devs agreed to that one.

I imagine quite a few people installed EPIC just for that one

I think Funcom were also desperate when they agreed to put their game in the Humble April Monthly, only 3 months after the release.
I suppose its value dropped hard, and then Epic didn't have to give them a tremendous shitload of money to let it become an Epic freebie. 100$ and a pack of Smarties and they signed.

Dunno why the dismissive stance. For lesser-known indies, visibility is everything. I'm sure being on Humble and Epic helps, even if people end up buying on Steam, Switch or PS4.
Epic seems quite developer-oriented at the moment. If they are willing to guarantee developers the proceeds of a certain minimum amount of sales in exchange for timed exclusives, they likely are giving the developers of the freebies used to promote the store a fine deal as well.

I saw from the Super Meat Boy devs on Twitter a while back that they make money from Epic when they do these free game promotions.

They should not give so many free games, its getting harder to hide the frustration of navigating through ones own library.

Last time i used it, the Epic library integration wasnt working yet.
I was able to connect to the account, but the library did not show up
plus, i am waiting until they reduce memory and CPU usage

Its beta, i assumed they would work on it. Is it not a priority?

I cant say. Since I've not read any update notes. Although running 2 launches naturally will require more system resource. I think at this stage they are making sure every platform is displayed properly and including features. Its best you check it on their forum and give feedback if you hasnt. :)

That actually looks good. On my system, 2 programs that took up most resource was Firefox and game I was playing 7 days to Die with both 2GB+ off the ram. Steam's 2 program actually took less than 100MB, Galaxy takes around 300MB. I did run the game off Steam rather than Galaxy since the game is graphic intensive I tend to start with the default launcher. Cheers~

As to the hidden comment: Let's not stir that hornet's nest ;-) I planned to include a GOG link since I own it on GOG, only to find out dev pulled it from their store a while back. Of course it is per GOG's terms still available for download if you own it.

Noice! I played Inside with the free month of Origin access that ASUS gave away earlier this year and the game was great, even better than LImbo.
Celeste has been in my wishlist since I first heard of it, Epic is really becoming a solid source for free games.

Celeste is next!!!! :)
I wouldn't be surprised at all if Celeste is in the August or September HB Monthly.
