Will you consider the Epic Game Store your new default library?
All of these free games are added on the store after the 2 week period and atm they only add new interesting games or really good older games so it makes sense to be high quality games. It seems there is a connection with a part of exclusivity from these developers on their future upcoming games. They are spending a lot of money for these free games(millions for most of these games) and imo is a much better move to promote their store than the exclusivities one.

Roughly 24 hours left to grab The Witness for free

Transistor is free. Next will be World of Goo (one of the best games I've ever played on phone).

World of Goo.... could have been a better giveaway but at least it's free

It is a good game. Just an old one. And for a lot of us, a repeat because we'll have already had it on Steam. For me that's been years, I've probably had it on Steam since 2011 or 12. But still nice offer for free. Hope their next offer after World of Goo manages to hit up my wishlist again like Subnautica and Edith Finch did.

Yep, works fine now. I guess their server was overloaded or something.

is it just me that epic deleted almost all the free games that I got from my library?
I saw the new free game, I got it, then I just checked if the game is in my library or not. I got all the free games but now, I only have Subnautica and World of Goo. I was planning to download The Witness and The Jackbox Party.. but it's the Epic way of joking with their new users I guess..

What does it say here?

Also meh on the next game or this one. Oh well, guess fun's over.

yupp, at first I realized the problem on the payment history, last week it was showing the whole free games, now only Subnautica and World of Goo.. I was just waiting my new computer to play the witness, but nahh.. I will stay away from epic after this, at all.

I still have all of mine, ever since they started with Subnautica. Not sure what the problem could be with your profile, if a glitch or something you need to contact support about. The only game I've installed on their platform so far is Subnautica, so failing to install a game after "buying" (for free) it can't be the reason they might disappear from your library. Have you also tried refreshing and checking other browsers/the Epic Games client to see if you see the games on any of those?

are you a fortune-teller or a spy of epic!? o.O
actually, after I wrote that comment, I checked 2 more days in a row to see if it's the same. and yea. but I've just checked now, right after your comment. and I got everything back. that's strange. thanks for the heads up.
you know how experiences influence our behaviours, I don't know, maybe epic is good, but I know for a long long time, I won't buy anything from epic just cause of this situation. I couldn't reach the games in my library for days..
and thanks again, have a nice week (:

The same just happened to me, I went to add RIME today and somehow I'm missing the four first free games I added so I'm glad to know you got yours back, that means they might also reappear in my account in a couples day. Hopefully cause the one I really wanted to play Thimbleweed Park and it's one of the games that disappeared. At least I haven't paid for them...

Stories Untold is such an awesome game.
I loved it, when it was in a monthly some time ago.
The next game by "no code", named Observation will be my first epic buy I guess.

I admit I'll gladly take the freebies whitout asking any question but I'm not against the epic store being an alternative to steam, I'm just pissed at how much BS epic has done in their constant escaltion of a war they started and their complete disregard for the damage they may cause to the PC gaming space. They could have beat steam by being a better alternative, instead they are trying to just buy the PC market, consequences be damned.

I suppose you're right, but it still feels kinda wrong somehow.
For me the real conflict comes from the fact that they have promised to have Journey, a game I've been patiently waiting to get ported for years, I know I'll eventually give in and buy it just because it won't be available in other stores. It was fine when they just secured exclusivities of games yet to be released, fair game as far as I see it, but their plans to start pulling games from steam (I love Rocket League and I'm really bitter about that one) and the rumor that they might be undermining linux support out of desinterest and their weird pleasure on antagonizing valve is kinda messed up.

I accepted a free sample of some smoked sausage in the mall a couple weeks ago, with no intention of spending any money in their store. Should I feel wrong, too?
No, of course not. Those free samples aren't given out of "generosity" or "good will." They're given to get you to shop in their store, and you're under no obligation to do so.

Touche.
Although I do like GOG it never grabed me like Steam, I have a personal theory that the reason why people gravitate so strongly towards Steam is that Valve aplied many concepts from games when giving form to the social aspects of their client and store. Basically they gamified a game client and created some sort of overarching meta between what otherwise would be many distinct buble-like comunities, their efforts of inegration via big picture and VR just add fuel to that particular fire. Just a theory tho.

Yeah, compared to the value they gave away so far, World of Goo is quite a bit below that. I hope that's not an indication of the quality of future freebies. But it probably is.
Nevertheless, it's a brilliant game. One of the pioneers of the newer indie games. I might even replay it at some point.

Stories Untold is now free to grab :)
Haven't seen anything about the next game yet, but according to their ads there should be one.
EDIT: RIME is the next one :3
Also during the sale, there will be a new one each week

Rime will be the next free game and it will be next week.
