If it is a rumor then it's a rumor.
If "most people" believe in rumors they are stupid anyway and why would I need to somehow appeal to people who would believe in dumb shiat as "you fucked a goat". Simply ask them why on earth did they believe it in the first place, if its some half arsed "I heard it from John" kind of proof then...be my guest....believe whatever the hell you want.
I would propose a 'groundbreaking' theory to them of what if, what if I didn't fuck a goat, what if such a rumor spread. How would you figure out if I did or didn't fuck a goat?
