what do you think is the most overated and underated games ?

Most underrated games of all time.The XENUS series.Yes there were many bugs,and yes they sometimes ruined the games for some people but someone who knows what makes a good game will find them awesome because they are some of the most amazing games i have ever played.Especially the second one,White Gold : War In Paradise.Also the Thief series!!!!
Overrated....Tons of games that get so much promotion(AKA World of Warcraft,The Late Call of Duty games etc.)

Skyrim for most overrated game, dont really know of many underrated games, just unheard of ones

Overrated: Skyrim (it's nothing like the older TES series -_-), any CoD after 4, BF3, ME3, Diablo 3

Underrated: Red Orchestra

(btw how can you stand playing Far Cry 2? It's so repetitive, I can't bring myself to beat the game because after a certain point it's just so stupid, and the spawn rate in that game is retarded, you can clear out an ammo depot and drive away for like a minute, and they'll be right back)

Overrated: Final Fantasy games,

Underrated: Shin Megami Tensei games.

overrated : Half life, COD, BF3 ( even though its not on steam ), Skyrim
underrated : Kingdoms of amalur reckoning, Rainbow six vegas 2, Transformers war for cybertron

Crysis is certainely the most overrated I keep hearing praises about.

Overrated: Halo 3, Modern Warfare 3, Skyrim
Underrated: Morrowind(Oblivion was good as well but I liked being able to kill anyone), Way of the Samurai, Time Splitters, Conkers Bad Fur Day, Gun, Ninja Gaiden, UNREAL TOURNAMENT 2004(The most FUN I have ever had playing online)

diablo 3 WAS overated before it cames out, now most of ppl is so disappointed

Overrated: CoD. Underrated: The Witcher.

Underated: Section 8 : Prejudice
Overrated: CoD-Games, especially CoD:MW3

Call of Duty - hasn't been good since the single player of the original MW, MW2 was a particularly shitty disasterpiece...
Diablo 3 - it's ok, the DRM makes it unacceptable. It's hardly the second coming of christ like all the raging fanatiqa make it out to be.

Underrated:
Crysis (the first) - This game did sooo much right. Great story telling that was more than a myriad of cutscenes interconnected by hallway shoootouts, the game rarely pulled you out of character ("show, don't tell"), acceptable story, really good and original alien design, "open mission" model where you're encouraged to complete the mission however you see fit (Deus Ex style), absolutely epic graphics, great soundtrack... And got so much shit because... it had REALLY good graphics... Yeah. This game actually got neglected for being too good at something. Go figure that shit out.

Hard Reset - Plain and simple: a "Run and Gun" balls out shooter done right. We haven't had one of those since Painkiller.

EYE Divine Cybermancy - Deus EX + Warhammer 40k + mountains of LSD. And this came out BEFORE Deus EX HR. Of course, it has a lot of issues, given the sheer scope of the game and the fact that it was done on an indie budget, but the sheer originality of it deserves experiencing.

Gemini Rue + Blackwell Series - REALLLY good adventure games. Gemini Rue particularly struck a cord with me that hadn't been touched since Beneath a Steel Sky. Blackwell games weren't far behind. If you know that name you won't need any further recommendation.

Most overrated game: GTA IV.

Most overrated:Half Life 2

Underated:The witcher 2

Overrated: Any CoD after 4.
Underrated: Duke Nukem Forever.

Diablo 3 and CoD (Black Ops, MW3 and now Black Ops 2) are WAY overrated

Over-Rated: I think Skyrim and Diablo 3 too ... I have both, and they're no what I expected
Under-rated: Fortix

Underrated- Just Cause 2. I've played for so many hours, beat all missions, yet i'm still only 40 percent complete!

The whole Zelda series is overrated. Same goddamn story in over half the games. Same goals, same locations, same everything.

I don't think Diablo 3 is overrated, because if you take a trek over to the forums, you're going to see a lot of angry players. A LOT of people are disappointed in it (me included).
