Good idea to have this group?
looking over the average number of entries for group giveaways, man I wish a group like this existed when I was first starting out on SG

I'd like to be in this group. Thanks!
Making these groups is a very nice idea.
I chose "Other" in the poll so I specify here: I think it's pretty normal that newcomers have less than 7 wins. Wouldn't be an average wins/time be even more fair? Less than X wins every Y months, for example.

Invited.
and yes thats a good idea and I was actually thinking about the idea of 'wins / months ratio'
The main issue was however, that after 1 year the profile time counter stops counting months and just displays years.
And yes its normal that new users have less than 7 wins this is the main reason the group was created, so people wouldn't have to wait for months just to win a game.

If I am on steamgifts it's because I don't have the money to buy games right now, and your group was made for those unlucky ones like me, but now you made it even worse kicking me out, good riddance I suppose :thumbs up: and please, spare me the "you can buy cheap games and give them away" I would if I could but let me repeat myself, at this point of my life I cannot do that, I don't have the money to buy games for myself, how do you pretend I am going to get money to give them away? thanks anyway mister

cant spare 10 cents to buy a cheap game? also there are many other alternatives to get games without spending any money , how much do you think i spent on this site?
Comment has been collapsed.
No I can't, first of all I am not in the US, a dollar here worths a lot, second of all, if I ever get a better situation my games will be localized, so not everybody will be able to enter, third of all I don't have a credit/debit card so I can't spare those "10 cents" because I would need to buy one of those steam cards that doesn't worth cents right? and since the ammoun is what? 20 bucks? and I am not from the US, I end up paying the double and we go back to my first point, I don't have the money for it, if you can do so, that's cool, I respect you time and dedication, but I can't do it. As for the other alternatives, I looked for a while for free games so I can give away as well, but only found websites that either sell bundles for cheap or you need a certain currency in their website so you can be selected to win games, and guess what? yeah you got it, I need to spend money on them. How much you have spent on this site? probably a lot, probably a few bucks, but that's irrelevant since we are not talking about you, as I stated before, whatever you have given away I admire it and keep up the good work, perhaps I can do so one day as well, in the meantime don't pretend we all have the life figured out as you do.

Just re-apply after two month.
There was and is a huge influx of new users that register on Steamgift and want to join the group 30 seconds later. There is no way they have read the FAQ or guidelines.
My guess would be that the changed rules are the only way for Tzell to cope with that problem.

Well he could have talked to me instead of assuming I am one of those 30 seconds members and kicking me out, that's just mean and uncalled for, you don't go around kicking members just because, you give them a chance to explain/talk to them and take it from there don't you think? of course, at the end of the day is his group right? so he can do whatever he wants, and thanks for the guide I will take a look at it :)

Give Tzell the benefit of the doubt, there are just too many users.

In your particular case I wanted to contact you beforehand but you werent around and I had many hours behind me and ahed of me to sort out members.
I know that being kicked out of groups is not fun, but like I stated above its really nothing personal. i had to manually remove close to 100 accounts with a non functional search system on steam (so yes manually find needles in a haystack). which basically lead me to do this for hours.
Since I made the re-entry easy , I figured worst case people would re-apply. But I really couldn't privately talk with approx 100 people in a reasonable time and wait for them all to get online and such before making a move.
We had to adjust the rule to make things work better otherwise the group would probably collapse and not just for the obvious reason through the eyes of the ones getting gifts.
Since many gifters don't want to create giveaways when they feel that a big portion of the group population is people wanting to exploit easy wins and take their, well, money pretty much. While also taking gifts away from people like you that can't actually afford it.
So if our gifters are deterred from creating giveaways - we have no group.
I was thinking about creating a group for people without limit (so they could stay forever).
But the main problem remains - how do you sort out the 'real' people from the countless exploiters, bots, alt accounts and god knows what?
And even if we did sort it out. What is the criterea? Why is person A fit to stay while person B can't? who 'needs' the help more?

Yup, I can totally understand you don't worry about it, I know the internet can be stupid and there's a lot of people just taking advantage of others, I am glad you are taking actions about that I honestly do and thanks for replying back, I also want to contribute believe me I do, and I know that eventually I will be able to somehow I can't really be this poor forever right? -giggles- well hopefully I won't. Anyway, like I said before, thanks for taking the time of replying and explaining, even though you didn't have to, and I like the idea of making a permanent group, I guess in that way you can somewhat know who can stay and who ares the pricks taking advantage. For now I am sorry if I made a big deal out of this, I just felt bad about it and let me know if you need help with anything, thanks. ^^

Unlucky-7
A group for people that have won 7 or less games on steamgifts.
The idea is to help boost morale and help make things a bit more fair and friendly for everyone.
Rules of application normal membership:
(1a) Your steamgifts account needs to be older than 7 weeks (So 2 months and above)
screenshot on how to check join date
OR
(1b) In case your account is less than 2 months old -
you need to have 7 or more completed giveaways on steamgifts (You gave away 7 or more gifts)
You need have won no more than 7 gifts on steamgifts (0-7 wins is ok, 8 or more will disqualify you).
You need to have your previous wins on steamgifts activated in YOUR account (steamgifts rule).
You need to activate all your wins in YOUR account (steamgifts rule).
You are not a documented scammer (e.g steamrep)
Once you've won 8 gifts or more -
You need to leave the group (unless you want to stay as a gifter in which case you can't enter most group giveaways yourself).
Gifter membership
Gifters create giveaways for group members.
Gifters can only enter 'open to gifters' giveaways IF they have a +7 gift difference in group. screenshot check yours here
Be atleast level 3 on steamgifts
Have at least a give/sent ratio of 1:1 in numbers
Make atleast one GA per week in case your gift difference is under +7 until you reach that mark
Must keep a gift VALUE bigger than 0
Group giveaway guide - when you create a giveaway and someone wins DON'T deliver gift until:
(unless it was open to gifters / multi group giveaway)
When its time for you to leave the group:

Can I enter to win a gift for my friend / family / brother / cousin / dog / pet gerbil?
Gifts have to be activated in your account. This is a steamgifts rule.
If your friends want to join, have them apply here.
You don't have to enter all group giveaways - Remember you only have up to 8 gifts so choose wisely!
Its actually much preferred if you only enter giveaways for games you actually want.
Can non gifters create giveaways for the group?
'Normal' members can also create group giveaways for each other. Actually this is encouraged.
Can I join the group as both gifter as normal member?
You can join the group as both, or become a gifter once you have won the gift quota.
I have more than 8 wins but not all wins are from the group, do I still have to leave?
Yes, the win count refers to your steamgifts account, it is not group specific.
I have to leave the group but still have ongoing group giveaways I am part of, can I still win those?
No, if you have to leave please exit all ongoing group giveaways you are a part of.
We get very angry when we have to perform dozens of re-rolls on people that left / were kicked from group days ago and still "win" group giveaways.
I am a gifter but have less than 8 wins on steamgifts, can I enter group giveaways for normal members?
yes, once you reach 8 or more wins you become a full 'gifter'. Until then you can enter all 'normal' group giveaways.
I am a gifter and want to enter 'open to gifters' giveaways. Why do I need this silly +7 gift difference rule?
This is not a ratio group, however, we've had cases of people not understanding that 'gifter' members should be...gifting.
So if we see a "Gifter" that won 20 gifts in group and only gave away 3 bad rats we will be angry.
