24 hours later, I can't stop thinking about it. I bought the soundtrack immediately after I finished and have listened to it several times over.

If stories move you at all, get this game. If you cried at "that scene" in Pixar's "Up", get this game. If it's in your library waiting to be played, set aside ~4 hours and do it.

That's all. Just wanted to share.

Great story, but too bad the writing is a little iffy. Too many pointless pop culture/overly geeky references that didn't fit in at all. The comic relief was often poorly timed as well, and frankly I didn't find a lot of it to be funny anyway. It's too bad because the story itself is just excellent, really touching and well thought out. If the writing were to be improved this would be one of my favourite games.

But is it actually a game or just an interactive story?

Where do you draw the line distinguishing between the two? To me, because of its 16-bit style and that you're always controlling one of two characters on this journey, it felt like a game. The simplest of games, but a game. You make some (completely inconsequential) decisions. You're free to move around in each section at some point. It looks, sounds, and has the feel of a video game.

Why does it need to be defined?

If I had to compare, it would be both at the same time.

Up didn't have any tear inducing scenes. The movie that brings me the closest to tears is Grave of Fireflies. To the Moon is a good story, but not overly sad. I guess regretful is a better word in my opinion.

And if you liked To the Moon, watch Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, cause the game heavily draws from that movie.

I envy every one of you schmucks who didn't play To The Moon. To experience it all over again, anew...

I cried like a little bitch. Twice.

I've still got to get around to it :P Reminds me of my Game boy advance days. It does look good, from what I've played so far. Good to hear it was so moving ^^

Just finished it, Walking dead is still better IMO. I really did cry on walking dead multiple times but to the moon only brought me to eye itching situation, no tears. But both are great games and perfect, can't think a better way to end those two. Soundtrack is really the key factor in making those game successful, Gave me a lot of goosebumps on a lot of scenes. I think the reason why walking dead made my cry because it handled the suprise factor very well

Anyways, I'll be doing a 2nd run later, apparently there's a lot of subtle clues that I missed

Me and my GF did a joint playthrough if this game, I finished the game at around 4.5 hours (note that I've been poking around the game) but she's still halfway of act 1 -_-

She was not accustomed on doing puzzles and finding specific items to find those memory links
