I don't know much about the audio software, I think I only used Acid before for fun not sure what Sound forge does differently. Is it even worth to get the lower tiers when there is newer versions of the software in higher tiers? Btw, lowest bta is $4.6, and it is increasing rapidly, already close to $10, which tells me people buying this getting only higher tiers...

Soundforge is primarily for editing wav files / samples etc. Really very useful tool if you're a sound engineer, electronic composer or even if you make your own films. Not really useful for many other people though.

I don't get the huge popularity it has. I won't say anything about the story, to each his own, tha's entirely up to one's taste. But the gameplay itself is bad. It's a fetching quest simulator, I couldn't even go past a few hours along with three buddies, same for em. Running, shooting, fetching some crap, bringing it back, rinse & repeat. I mean there are so many better games out there...
With that being said, I ain't trying to prevent anyone from enjoying them. I'm just saying it's not as fantastic as people make it out to be.

Well, if you break it down most games can be described as "Bring me this. Kill that.". Some just disguise it better than others.
And after years of cover-shooters ala Mass Effect or Gears of War it was refreshing to see a game that uses old school shooter mechanics.
