Do you like surprises?
I just got an email and for the NA version they say that they'll be sending 5 "Square Enix Digital Game Download Codes", whatever that means. Chances are good for at least a couple Steam, but I'm trying to think of games they have not on Steam that might be in the box, so unless they give non-Steam copies of games, I suspect mostly Steam keys.
Now if they included 3DS games, I'd buy five...

Hmmmm, I'm very very torn here. They bundled everything they got already in previous surprise boxes. What is actually left? Also this is compared to previous surprises a relatively high asking price.
Is guessing:
Season pass for Life is Strange
Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris and some
Final Fantasy (maybe III or VII and VIII?)
guessing too much??
What do you think?

Hrm, doubt any FF games will be in it. If I even thought there would be, I'd buy it -- in case I didn't have them and I could give away any I did. If they do include a FF, it could be FF XIV to sell more subscriptions.
It'd be nice if Life is Strange is in it, but I think they only included episode one on Easter to get people to bite buying the rest of the game. I bet they'll at least include episode one again for the same reason.
Temple of Osiris is a really good guess, and I bet you're right on that one. Dungeon Siege II and the Kane and Lynch collection are good possibilities imho as well. I'd bet money that Sleeping Dogs will be in it this time around, too.

Guys lets come up with some guesses on what these games might be. Some people might be waiting to bite until they get more info.
P.S. I got one though

Some maybes, based on what's left to give away: Sleeping Dogs, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, Kane and Lynch collection, Legacy of Kain collection, Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
Possible also for Life is Strange, seeing as only the first episode was given away last year. They've never given out a Final Fantasy before, but seeing as the remake for FF7 is coming, they might see this as an excuse to put the original in peoples hands before the remake becomes the main purchase.
Of course, it's possible that they'll just give away one more expensive game (like Sleeping Dogs), and then a bunch of old cheap stuff. But the previous giveaways have been decent enough, so for a fiver it seems worth a punt.

I've also added up the value of previous bundles at current prices (in GBP, convert as you wish), in case you want to know whether they are worth the punt. This doesn't include any discount vouchers (or that Nosgoth warriors pack, no longer available).
2015 (Easter) - £41.96
2014 - £66.95
2013 - £41.96
And that's current prices. Likely cost more at the time. So at least you're not likely to screwed when it comes to value for money, even if you don't get the games you're looking for.

Well, in Germany the link is different and the platform is "PC DOWNLOAD":
https://store.eu.square-enix.com/emea_de/games/pc-windows-download/2015-Holiday-Surprise-Box.php
So I suppose, that there will be different or even cut games included in this bundle...
I already own a lot of SE-copies. Do you think that it is smart ordering?
Just Cause, Just Cause 2
Thief, Thief Gold
Hitman Blood Money, Hitman Absolution, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman: Codename 47, Hitman: Contracts
Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut, Deus Ex: The Fall, Deus Ex: Invisible War
Tomb Raider, Sleeping Dogs, Mini Ninjas, The Last Remnant, Nosgoth, Battlestations: Midway, Daikatana, Anachronox

Can still give them away. You don't have to use SteamGifts to give stuff away.
I only pointed out the name of the site having the word gifts in it because that's the point of the site and that it draws people who are in the spirit of giving/sharing.
Comment has been collapsed.
Indeed. I'm just afraid that they'll give something that doesn't worth the price, and not worth giving. I mean, even if they'd give yesteryear's winter pack, I'd be happy with it because they are quality gifts. The easter pack wasn't as good at all, not even for gifts :\
Btw I'm not exactly sure that you could give away DRM-free stuff bought from SQEnix site, I wouldn't be surprised if it would be profile-locked. (For example you also can't share download link for groupees, it checks you purchase before download)

Bought it. Hoping for FF game(s).
I am thinking since it is 5 games and $80 dollars.
3 $15 games, 1 $16-17 game, 1 $20 game.

Ok I finally made up my mind. As all I'm hoping for is the complete Life is Strange I wait for it to be on sale in the Steam sales. So you all can buy this now, as normally when I use my mind and not buy a mystery bundle it turns out to be great!

Aah, good to know. That is exactly what I'm hoping too, but it might not have been deeply discounted yet to end up there. I'm finding it really hard to make up my mind about this.
On the other hand last years surprise exceeded my expectations totally...

No that's not the problem. The problem is that they are no normal dlc's or seperate games. I've seen a few ga's here for the complete series or for episode 2-5. You can not enter these if you only have episode 1 because steam does not see them as different games. So SG says "Already in account" a big shame that can become a problem with trading as well. Not sure.

I took a chance on the Humble Bundle Monthly and that was more expensive... might as well give this a go. If I get dupes I can use them as Christmas Gifts.

You won't know until the 18th. This is a mystery box. They're just speculating, but we don't know anything for sure.

Just before midnight I went and called my friend to ask her to use her Paypal. It didn't work either. Luckily, she had a Visa that went through.
If I don't get Life Is Strange after all this hassle I'm never buying anything from them again.
Except Life Is Strange. I need to play that xD

Just bought it against better judgement. The final red button to purchase after filling in all information and choosing a payment option neither worked on Firefox nor Chrome, so I had to use Internet Explorer. If that isnt a bad omen I dont know what is

The same thing has crossed my mind. I changed my address to fit the one of the paypal address and still no-go. The name now makes the most sense.
But credit cards, on the other hand, are a different thing. I used my friend's card and there were no problems with the acceptance of the payment.
Their system makes no sense to me at all.

I sent them a support ticket yesterday, so that maybe I can persuade them to sell me the bundle even after the games are announced since it's their fault I couldnt purchase it before :)
Their answer is as expected: Make sure your data is correct at your square and paypal accounts and make sure you're the owner of the paypal account, otherwise all they can recommend is using a different payment method

They've probably flagged your entire region. I've heard of other companies that restrict purchases from south-eastern Europe, due to a perceived "security threat", or because they're afraid that the entire region is Greece (where it is impossible to use paypal, or at least was, I don't know if they've lifted it)

Not sure if it helps anyone but this is the email I received from Square Enix about the Holiday Bundle:
Thank you for contacting the Square Enix Support Centre.
We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with the Holiday Surprise. If the game that is included in the Holiday Surprise and already provides a Steam key on our store then a Steam key for that game would be included in the Holiday Surprise. If the game does not provide a Steam key on the SQUARE ENIX Store but is included in the Holiday surprise then a steam key would not be provided.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused but if there is anything else we can do for you please do not hesitate to contact us again.
Kind regards,
The Square Enix Support Centre team
(I know this doesn't really tell you anything unfortunately)
If it helps anyone this is what originally showed on my screen when I originally went to purchase the product http://i.imgur.com/Kn8xHwR.jpg (I put the steam parts in yellow and blue). Before all the Steam parts got taken down.

Am I the only one finding it strange that the pricing is so different overall? For NA people it seems to be available for $9.99. Here in Germany I paid € 6.49. Trustnoone below or above my post shows a picture with a currency unknown to me A$ 8.99
Do you think there will be different contents for different regions?
Comment has been collapsed.
It is a bit peculiar, isn't it? I'm usually used to European or Britsh (where I am) prices being at least 20% more expensive because of VAT, sometimes more because people are lazy and do the whole $1=€1=£1 thing. Instead with this, Europe is 25% cheaper than US, and the UK is almost 30% off. Weird.

Very odd to me, AUD is Australian dollar, but the Aussie dollar is worth less then the USD (1US = approx 1.39 AUD). So not only is the NA price higher, but its also higher when converted.
So I pay AUD$8.99 which is equivalent to USD$6.47
But the American price is USD$9.99
We currently don't pay any tax either and I'm pretty sure its the same in the US?
Comment has been collapsed.
Yep, no idea why but Aussies getting the best price for once. This is exactly the sort of thing I'm hoping for when the AUD makes it to Steam (should happen before July 2017 I expect, as I think that's when Valve will need to start charging Australians GST). The Aussie dollar is likely to stay pretty weak for the foreseeable future too.
Comment has been collapsed.
Interesting, i was wondering when the Tax thing would come into effect. Definitely surprised in the fact Aus isn't getting the worse price. I'm so used to buying games from US steam traders at full steam US price just because its still cheaper then the AUS XD.
I would love it if Steam gave us good prices for once as well. Would be amazing, but 2017. This good price isn't happening any time soon lol.

Keys are RoW, as long as you can get past payment you should have no trouble. At least that's how it was in the last 3 Square Store sale ...
