Since I'm up to about 70 entries without winning anything yet, I was just wondering if your Steam account has to stay public for you to be able to win? I set mine to public to verify my account when I first signed up, but set it back to private afterwards - and haven't won since. Does privacy have anything to do with winning or am I just unlucky?

You're just unlucky. ALTHOUGH I recommend setting it up to public (or only when you win anything) so the gifter can check your profile to see if you already have the game or they may refuse to gift you with a leap of faith.

I would leave it open. It is perfectly within a gifters' powers to refuse to award you should you have a private profile.

I expect a gifter to contact you and ask you to temporarily reveal your profile - to simply refuse outright doesn't seem fair.

That's what I meant. I've been getting ready for a wedding all day, a bit tired -_-

Oh, I didn't notice your base issue, no, having your profile set to private doesn't affect your odds.

I assume there is nothing that affects your odds. Is there?
