Which of these games ranks highest on your wishlist?
this one has the groups wishlist pages. you can check SG group page, most are members of that group...

I think Steam Universe or the Steam Trading Cards Group are possibly better representations than S.Gifts.

Those results look really similar to the S.Gifts group. Remember that SG does not just look at every WL individually, but takes a sample, and then applies it to everyone. So having a game move up or down one or two spots can easily be a result of that. And still, you find the same games at the top in all of those groups.

Check from the 2nd page onwards. They also have 3 times the (SG) user amount.
does not just look at every WL individually, but takes a sample, and then applies it to everyone
What do you mean with that? (I honestly don't understand)

As explained here, it looks at the last 500 users online in the group, finds their wishlisted games, and extrapolates the results for the entire group.

It still gives you an accurate view on the more popular games, as those are likely to be found on a lot of wishlists, though it can cause issues with games that are only wishlisted by a small portion of the userbase. It can also cause a game to move up or down a few positions in case there's a roughly equal amount of people who wishlist it, but as perfect accuracy is not the goal of this system, just to give you a good idea of what people want, it's a good way of saving processing power.
And because of this, member numbers is also mostly irrelevant when comparing groups, as long as the spread inside the group can be deemed mostly representative.

Even alt accounts can join the group. Not like it's a tragedy that they can modify the wishlists, but if a group can has alts in it who doesn't have SG accounts, and there are SG users who are not members of the group then it's far from being representative
Comment has been collapsed.
Certainly, and alt-users love groups like that the most, ergo it'll be biased.
But it's really hard finding a group that's truly representative of sg specifically, without the old site wishlist feature returning, and at least you know that group has (theoretically) primarily sg users in it.
Now, whether a non-sg group is a better representation of overall wishlisting is another matter, the fact is it's just going to be unreliable no matter what group you go with.
Comment has been collapsed.
Does SG even count non-SG users? It does not look at the wishlists of everyone when it designs those group wishlists, but rather takes a sample of it and applies it to the whole group, so it would be strange if it started looking at users who are not even registered. And as long as the sample base is large enough (and the S.gifts sample base is quite large), it should be representing reality relatively well. Looking at groups with special interests would skew the results, but the S.gifts group is just a general group, there should be no large bias one way or another.

I'm actually in the group since it gets updates [sometimes] during things like downtimes.
It certainly seems to be the most inclusive [ie, largest] group, as it relates to sg users.
I've seen plenty larger groups in use here on sg, but most of their members don't seem to be part of the userbase.
Either way, if you're going to reference a single group for overall sg statistics, that'd be the best- and honestly, probably a better bet than a 'who is online atm' forum poll on it.
still, there's no harm in this approach-
Though everyone voting for GTA and Fallout over Tomb Raider really need to get their priorities in order! =O
;P

well, what everyone else said. got nothing to add...
and you are probably right.

But isn't v1 gone for a while? Why is this funeral happening just now?

I understand. The title just misled me. I thought there was something happening to this feature.

Laser squad rocket league: Deluxier Edition is officially my current favorite game title.
Let's make it happen, people. =O
On another note, I gotta say, I don't think I ever played Laser squad. I may have missed out. :(

Toss-up between XCOM 2 and Deus Ex 4. The former may be in the lead because even though I abhor the basic premise of the plot (what was wrong with going with the original?), it has a significantly less chance to be a worse follow-up than DX4, which so far looks like a game reduced to a simple stealth TPS.

They keep dumbing down game serieses. I mean, Thief, newer (non-remake) RE games, etc are all still fun (in different ways to the earlier games), but you do feel they lose a lot of the depth their predecessors had.
Flip side, for every game that gets changed up, we get new IPs filling the previous niche, so I think it's a richer and more robust selection this way. :)

Exceptions apply ;-) but that seems also not to be top-budget.
Cyanide
Never heard of them before, their Steam [track record](http://store.steampowered.com/search/?developer=Cyanide Studio) ain't looking so great otherwise. Still too sad to see Styx to be underappreciated with just 250k sales, while nu-Thief got 1.3m (though it was already bundled too)

Aarklash, styx, and Of Orcs and Men are probably their most notable games, other than Blood Bowl.
Not necessarily top budget, but they're not indie, either. :)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyanide_(company)
And yeah.. though flip side, that styx is 'only' at 20% of the sales of Thief actually speaks well for it.
It certainly got a lot less notable marketing, from what I've seen, so that's likely in large part due to word of mouth. :D

It's a yearly sports series, same as any Electronic Arts sports game.
some years are good, some, less so.
..same as any EA sports game :P
Well, they're not 'big name', I guess, but they're well-respected from what I know. :)
The four games I listed are of special note, I believe all are very well rated.
And styx is coming out with a sequel.. :D

Well, when you must make a game where the entire control scheme has to fit under a dozen buttons and it cannot have precision, you have little choice but dumb down the game mechanics and decide if it is worth to focus on the writing or keep it simple too. (Hence the thriving interactive movie genre now.) Nintendo didn't want to conform to that and their games are still quite complex for the target audience, not to mention that PC-exclusive ones still don't fret from listing 20-30 keys as basic controls if needed. But heck, sometimes even the peasants get something a little more challenging, like the Souls series (even if there 90% of the difficulty comes from the abysmal control coding, regardless of platform).

I wasn't in any way referring to interaction mechanics [or difficulty], but an emphasis on fast-paced action-based gameplay over slow, puzzle-oriented gameplay, like in earlier Thief and RE games.
It's just streamlined to a more accessible format. And y'know, those games are still fun.
But not all games need to be so similar, so it's nice having options out there that still adhere to more methodical gameplay approaches. :)
Another example is how you 'can't' beat newer Fallout games with no-death runs, while earlier ones let you figure out alternative approaches. Deus Ex and Thief are the same way, focusing on combat/action gameplay over puzzling and diplomacy and environment analysis and so forth.
Again, not about good versus bad, just certain IPs shifting direction away from more niche gameplay styles, which is a pity.
As for Nintendo, them slacking on quality is exceptionally rare. Definitely my favorite console company. :D

Look at how they combined the touchscreen controls of smartphones/tablets and the control scheme of the classic controller. I sincerly doubt you could play SM3DW with an Xbone or PS4 controller the same way: you can control the character with the controller and also interact with the world on the touchscreen at the same time to influence objects away from the character itself.

Is it really Deus Ex 4? I haven't looked much into it, but it looked more like Deux Ex 3 v2.

I am not interested in most of the games (genre).
There are few I would like to try maybe but I am neutral about them.
And then there's series/sequels.. I haven't play the previous games (for the same reason as mentioned) x3
I just noticed Dragon's Dogma is on my wishlist.. But I am sure I won't be getting it.. for who knows how long.. It's not really a game I must have or something
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, I never got interested in the previous iterations x3
I don't know what I like myself, I just know that I am not really intereted in any of these other than Dragon's Dogma, Tomb Raider (Haven't played a single Tomb Raider game :|), I liked Street Fighter II but Street Fighter just looks weird to me now... and I'd rather play such games with friends (which is not possible at the moment).
it's just a popularity poll, no? :/

The only one actually on my wishlist is Slime Rancher.

For me only Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, GTA 5 and Slime Rancher.
Rest: "Meh."
Honorable mentions (which games are in my wishlist, but couldn't score higher due to reasons):
Rainbow Six Siege - Innovative, interesting and fun, but the game has no servers - only matchmaking. Netcode issues and the game runs on uPlay so...
Rocket League - Again, Innovative and fun, but I don't have much friends who play video games. Sure, solo mode can save it, but it's not the same experience.
Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide - Great melee based co-op game, but again it requires friends to play the game, because with strangers you'll get people who AFK, grief, troll, micspam etc.

Yup same problem here, with more than 250 wishlisted titles now... I did kinda reorder them recently though. Which I almost never do.
It just proves how relative tastes are. This list posted here, means nothing to me...

Tom Clancy's the Division is something that I'm looking forward to.
