I thought I'd tell you guys about another game that's in development. It's like a "realistic minecraft sci-fi" game.

I'll add some detail underneath, but check out the Kickstarter project and help it reach its' foundings!

Taken from their site:

Planet Explorers is an open world voxel based sandbox adventure rpg game set on a distant planet. The game uses a new OpenCL system based on the Unity 3D engine to allow players to change the terrain in anyway, create new objects in any form, and do it anywhere.

In Planet Explorers, it is the year 2287, one of the first colony ships sent out by Earth arrives at the planet Maria, in the Epsilon Indi Star System. During its landing sequence, something appears in front of the massive ship that causes it to lose control and crash into the planet. Some of the colonists survive in lifeboats, but what they find is an unforgiving land filled with creatures ready to outlast the visitors from Earth. Now the survivors must explorer, gather, build, create, fight, and ultimately, conquer the land.

The gameplay will be in 3rd and 1st person perspectives. Players will be able to customize their character, combine and create weapons, vehicles, and buildings. At the same time, players will have to defeat multitudes of enemies of varying intelligence and defend the remnants of the colonists. There will also be a mission system that features NPCs giving the player goals to achieve to advance the storyline. The game will feature a single player story line as well as random single and multiplayer adventure maps. Multiplayer will feature prominently in Planet Explorers, we’ll touch on the game modes that we want to include in a future update.

UPDATE:

Now, I was going to post the stretch goals when we hit 80%, but we're close enough, so here we go. Before that though, I just want to say...what is up with stretch goals? We're doing them only because everyone else seems to be doing it and people expect this. But I don't believe in stretch goals, I believe in you do it or you don't, there is no try. :) Everything listed on our "stretch" goals, with the exception of the last 2 maybe, we plan to do anyway once we have the capacity, doesn't matter if we make the goals or not. But just for fun

Skipping right over where it states there to be both.
Been playing this a few days now, it's surprisingly good in comparison to some of the other block/voxel games getting off their feet.

No problem :). I just think games with potential and no money for advertisement should still have an opportunity. Do you really want EA to be one of the top publishers, or should we try to get them out of the way? ;)

Downloads it for testing now, and we'll see if I'll support it. Thanks for notifying us.

I didn't understood......What Minecraft has to do here? I love Minecraft but this game is not like Minecraft to me, it has a lot of things, but they're really big different. It looks interesting with all things you can make there, but still alpha.

Minecraft = a creative game

This game is very similar to Minecraft. It's pretty much like what Minecraft was supposed to be, if it had the money at that time.

I also don't understand why for people voxels = minecraft...they are completely different genres of games(the one in the video and minecraft) and voxels aren't born with minecraft...

Most of those stretch goals are things who should have been in the base game.
