How hyped are you?
As the hype is rising I'd like to share a kinda useful information (which could prove to be pretty specific and only useful to a few of you, but whatevs) that I gathered today and did not see it posted here yet:
TW3 seems to look for your TW2 save games in your user\documents\witcher2\savegames folder, while if you played the game on steam with steam cloud saves enabled you will find the saves here steam/userdata/yoursteamidnumber/20920/remote so I guess you should move the latest saves to the user/documents/etc for TW3 to see them:)

Unfortunately I've lost my Witcher 2 save! :-/
I heard there's part in the beginning of the game where a character (bard) tells a story of what happened on previous games and you can correct him if he's wrong to make the story decisions the same way you did before.

You might want to search around for a save game then (or use a generator) as afaik that guy has like 4 questions about the main branches of the story while a lot more fine detail may come from a save game:) like Geralt having a certain tattoo haha

Because you must go and buy new Nvidia GPU. That's the way of showing that new GPU cards are "superior" to old ones :D
That's why GTX960 work better than GTX770 and GTX970 better than GTX780Ti on new drivers ;)

No, Nvidia is cool. I'm running the game on a laptop, i5 4200M, GT 750M and at first I had it set to High Performance which boosted the CPU clock to 3.1GHz. After installing the driver I switched it to Balanced setting and CPU never went above 2.2 GHz.
Now back on High Performance, I get the same glorious 15-17fps.

i never had any additional downloads, looked at the gog client at 11.30 uk time and it said Play so i clicked it and it started up right away, played about 2 hours and so far its everything i hoped it would be.

Im getting about 50 FPS on ultra 1440p and HBAO+.
Its a bit jarring, but GSync makes it playable.
Also.. Hairworks looks awesome!

Everyone's sharing performance so me too.
Hairworks looks awesome but in close ups top Geralt's face it really impacts my performance so I had to turn it off. Fortunately the "regular" hair also looks pretty damn good so I'll stick with it. Everything else on ultra and I'm getting stable 60 fps.

Played for around 2 hours. Seems ok so far, but won't be touching it further till they fix the damn crashes, can't even open the inventory without the game freezing.
Good that Life is Strange ep. 3 is out.
i5 2500k, GTX 970, installed on SSD, Ultra, SSAO, 1080p, Hairworks, Motion Blur and Chromatic Abberation OFF. Foliage Visibility Range: Medium. Stable 60 FPS.
Actually, just set HBAO+ and bumped Foliage to High. Stable 60.
Turning Foliage to Ultra gives 60 with some drops to 58-57.
Only tested around White Orchard for a few minutes. Will probably see how it goes further down the line but seems ok.
Loving the Polish VA, especially in combat. Nothing says good game like "Jebaj się" in the middle of killing a console peasant.

on steam some where saying the freeze/crash issue went away with the hair thing off? it froze twice for me last night, once in the cutscene in the bathtub and once in the game itself. ill turn the hair off and see how it goes today.

From what I've read the "hair thing" is one of the options that can degrade performance the most, so disabling it is definitely a good idea.

Playing with all settings on ultra, no lag, hasn't frozen or crashed yet. :D Working far more smoothly than I imagined.
Faces and hair are so much better in this game, super happy. Have hairworks turned on for everybody so I'm just following them round and watching their fringe move as they do. it makes me happy.

specs that I thought might struggle with ultra, tbh, though it probably helps I've overclocked my cpu/gpu/ram. 780, only 8gb of ram, and a 4770k @ 4.5 GHz.

Someone showed me a bunch of "Screenshots" that were supposedly done on a comp with
CPU: i7-4960X Ivy Bridge-E 3.6GHz (Turbo 4GHz)
GPU: Nvidia Quadro K4000 3GB
RAM: 128GB (8x16GB) DDR4
The game Graphics were all set to Ultra or High, and the game Did'nt look anything like the "Screenshots" from the Store page.
Anyone know what's up with that?

Take a look at the screenshots here, these are valid and show off a lot of what the game has to offer in the graphics department.
Also, you should never take steam store pictures for granted, they usually show caps with perfect lighting, dof and character model setups that you will rarely find ingame the same way.
Case in point, here are 3 pictures from the store page of Assassin's Creed II: one two three and don't get me wrong, I love the AC series, but these pictures do not represent the look you will get in gameplay of AC2 at all.
