I just got through my third listen and it's starting to grow on me. This album focuses a lot more on the longer prog-oriented songs and has a lot fewer of the focused, prog-pop/rock tunes that the previous albums had. I think that those shorter tunes are what attracted a lot of people to the band, especially people that aren't normally prog-heads, and that opened the minds of that particular selection of people so that they could enjoy those 10-minute prog tunes containing several movements.
So, I think that this album, much more than the other two, leans heavily upon styles found in Spock's Beard and The Steve Morse Band (unsurprisingly, really). Since I like both of those bands a lot, I enjoy this album, but I agree that the focus has shifted a lot. I think that this album will be divisive for a lot of their fans, and I definitely miss having more of the catchy, shorter tunes (e.g., if "Kayla" from the first album comes on, my kids and I will stop what we're doing and just sing that song :) ).
However, I think that Casey's voice sounds great on this album, and as I mentioned earlier, it's starting to grow on me. "Crawl" is getting stuck in my head now, and I didn't think that was going to happen. I'm starting to believe that this is one of those albums that you just have to live with for a while and then there's this moment when you realize you actually really love it. I know that some of my favorite albums worked that way, and got me when I didn't expect it. I don't know if that will happen with this one, but I do think that after a couple more spins and familiarity, it's at least going to rank higher in my brain than it does right now.

Ed Sheeran - No.6 Collaborations Project.
I slept on it when it first came out, at the time I found out that only the song Cross Me caught my full attention and I only listened to that song from the album for a while, but this weekend thought I would give the album second chance and I was surprised. Don't know why I didn't like it on the first hearing, but after listening it for 3 times in the past 2 days, I really like it. It feels like half of the songs could be really high on the Billboard Top 100.
