Both pictures were taken during Perseids meteor shower, so yes, very impressive. Unfortunately I didn't take enough pictures to capture meteors, but even just being there and seeing this spectacle was worth the drive. Definitely doing the same next year.

Close by. We arrived at Mizpe Ramon (Ha-Minsara) at around 1 AM, but the place was packed with so many people that it was pointless to try to stay. We continued driving south and parked close to Paran river. This was much better as there weren't any other cars around. The sky was dark and cloudless, and it was easy to see the stars and the meteorites. The pictures above were taken at around 3 AM.

Brett - american author of said books ;) I've gone to sci-fi/fantasy convention/fair yesterday, but missed autographs session with him (I was stuck in the traffic), then by total mistake I've found him wandering around the convention grounds :> Not only got my autographs but also a photo and a few minutes chat he wouldn't have time for during autographs session :>

Thanks for the nice words! Yeah, I had that picture taken maybe almost two years ago now - summer before last I think. I am very into music, but I can't really play anymore since I am sick. I'm a good bassist though, people say.

Thanks a lot for the kind words! :D I do miss playing bass... I still can sometimes for little bits of time - luckily my probs haven't gotten to my hands so much, usually. This one condition causes me problems though sometimes called pressure urticaria. It's like a hive-like reaction that I sometimes get from rubbing or putting pressure on my hands, and they'll get very red and start to itch and sting a lot. Very annoying!

The gasmask was $10. It's a lot cheaper to pretend to be someone that's level 10 than to give away enough to get it.

A lot of people with the Department of Corrections and thier families volunteered. Not all of us willingly, my mom signed me up without asking. We directed people where to park for the event at the end of the day, but before that we enjoyed the event looking at cool planes and cars, getting free stuff, buying crappt souvenirs, watching aircraft land and take off, and getting a bunch of free for donated to the volunteers. At times it got pretty bad for me because of my anxiety, but it was pretty fun overall.

On the way back home we went to the store and saw a flea market going on this weekenf at the Dulles Expo. I got a gasmask on Saturday and saw some cool jewlrey. My mom saw an African Elephant mask but didn't have the money to buy it. She figured out how much she could afford to spend and we went back Sunday and she was able to buy it. I also bought two pendants then, a gold plated one of a Crescent moon face and a silver one of a girl facesitting on a Crescent moon face.
