I'm sorry it's not working for you but chrome is the only real browser out there, CHROME FOREVER!

Any browser should be good as long as it's fully up-to-date and profile isn't messed up.
If you like Chrome, try either clearing or removing your profile (95% of problems is messed up or corrupted profile).
If not, currently I can suggest you some other browsers:

  1. Opera, version 12 is feature complete and decent, version... 16? It's Chromium (same as Chrome) fork with better interface but it's being created from scratch and lacks many options. For me browser of choice for browsing most websites and checking e-mail.
  2. Firefox is good browser with many great add-ons - browser of choice when I have lots of work to do - it allows to easily automate 3/4 of it :)
  3. Chromium - Chrome is based on Chrome so it might be good choice for you. Basically Chrome = Chromium + few paid codecs + integrated Adobe Flash + some other minor modifications made by Google.
  4. Internet Explorer 9 and up... since version 9 IE improved very much, version 11 is really competitive to other browsers. I use it rarely but from time to time I test it and it doesn't look bad.

There are many browsers fork... but to be honest - most of them aren't up-to-date, they lack many features... and after some time they are simply gone.

[Edit]
Best browser... well, it basically depends what do you use browser for (viewing pages, work, mostly downloading, playing games , watching movies) and how do you use it (1-2 tabs opened or 100 tabs opened might be difference, same as number of add-ons etc.). Browser that suits me perfectly for some tasks, fails me miserably in some other :P

PS: you should tell why you have problems with Chrome so we can help you choose better.

I have no idea. I don't think it matter tbh. Firefox, Opera, IE. Whatever you like. Also I wonder why Chrome isn't working for you, have you uninstalled it and installed again?

Use the "Reset browser settings" option in the setting menus. Also clear your cache.
