It will probably be as great as the new Sim City was, and have as much as DLCs as the last one had.

I could be wrong, but I'm sure EA decided to use only Origin. I have no sources, I am just assuming that is the case.

So? It's not till next year and you still have countless hours of fun with what you have now. Hell, I still play the crap out of Sims 1 and 2

I didn't go that far but I did drop $60 for Sims 3 and 4 expansions during the Steam Summer Sale. I guess it's still a while away but... still.

Inb4 more DLCs to suck your wallet dry.

Oh, and the dreadful always-online DRM.

Agreed. EA has gone too much on capitalism.... They have some of the worst customer support I've gotten before too. Ignoring my game support question when my Crysis(one) failed to launch after patch.

There's also their streak on ruining just about every popular game franchise they have too.

I hope it's more like the Sims 2. I didn't like the Sims 3 because of the rabbit holes, bugs, and butt ugly sims.

I'd get it... when its $5 for the game and all DLC.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah that's... definitely not going to happen. Even The Sims 3 (which is now maybe 3 years old?) plus all the DLC is something like $400 all together.

Make that €45 for base game and €520 for all DLCs and the game was released 4 years ago.

It will probably be Always On DRM, err I mean "oh not DRM, just how our creative directors invisioned the game". If so, wont buy it. But maybe with simcity fiasco they wont do it, specially since the sims was always strong about modding.

Might want to wait for other releases with "always on" to be released before condemning all their releases, considering one of Sim City's "perks" was social integration.

Shouldn't label the entire company just because of one release. However, if there were to be more, it would probably be the Sims because aren't they both from the same Dev?

Pretty much every single always on drm game has been a total disaster for up to weeks after release.

Edit: Correction, Pretty much every single always on drm game from every single developer/publisher has been this way, it wasn't just a simcity thing.

Do you really think that one release covers all the hate people have for EA?

It's not really the same dev any more, EA split a new studio for The Sims in 2006.

You ever get the feeling that in one of these iterations there will be an EA representative sim That comes to your house at random and requests real world currency before letting you continue? And if you decline, the chances of disasters befalling you increase by 1,000%.

If that's how the sims are going to look like, I will be extremely happy. They look like straight out of a pixar film.

yeah let me guess:
-only on Origin
-preorder it for DLCs
-on launch day feels like SimCity (2013) on launch day
-Back to Simsland dlc (why not?)
-The Sims now with microtransactions
-billions of dlcs
